I think statistically, Jokic has been labeled as the best player cause of the rebounding and assist numbers that Shai will never get and then narrative wise, people look at Shai with scoring as his only edge over him and think it’s 90% foul baiting, plus also overlooking defense

It’s not that Shai has to work harder, it’s that nobody else is gonna get Jokic type stats in the league to make it convincing. But as I’ve said in other threads before, if Jokic just ends up winning one and his other playoff runs are underwhelming, that’s kinda disappointing for a consensus best player in the world especially compared to what Lebron has done with shittier teams

As a Shai fan, I’m not concerned about his status as the best player though. I’m just glad he’s going toe to toe with Jokic best years at a much younger age (though Wemby might be coming for that title soon if he stays healthy)
