In some ways, but not really. Firstly we had more expectations than Detroit, people were skeptical on the Pistons all season and for good reason. Secondly, Detroit is fully healthy, Giannis missed essentially two games and returned still injured.
The upset seemed more grand because people truly believed in the Bucks, that’s all.
Not to mention, Jimmy already showed in the Bubble he can carry a team to the finals, and they’d put together deep runs since.

The difference between NBC/Peacock and Amazon Prime’s production is shocking. I know NBC has an established sports arm even if they didn’t have NBA for a long time, but the announcer’s, the studio shows, and the over all production value of the Amazon Prime games (even in the playoffs) are an all-time low of national game coverage that I can remember, and it is not even close. Most teams local coverage is better produced.
But, NBC took over from TBS and is doing an better job on the actual games IMO. I am bummed ABC/ESPN gets to keep the Finals. NBC would do such a better job.

Oh really, the Celtics/76ers games was bad. The audio mix wasn’t great. Twice they missed live buckets trying to sneak in a replay on a side out. If you go look at both teams subs people were complaining about broadcast anouncers and quality.
A good example was when Drummond hit his first three both Collins and Curry acted like it came out of nowhere. While he is not a volume three point shooter, it was definitely part of his game this season and he shot reasonably well (basically league average on 90 attempts). They had to correct themselves and point out he had 32 3PM in regular season. How are you calling a post-season game not knowing things like that about the players?
Okay. I know why I have this perspective. The Amazon broadcast has been very laudatory of Gobert. Do you have any idea how much the big sports national media has often shit on him?
