Rui Hachimura on the Lakers’ improbable comeback: “If it was the regular season, I’m not gonna lie, we might have just let it go.”
Down 6 with 25 seconds left when you don’t have possession sounds impossible tbf
35 but what’s crazy is they tied it up with I think 14 left lol
And they also had a good shot to win it lol
I forgot that even happened. That would that have been insane if it went in
Bronny was randomly subbed into the game just for that shot. I know JJ was trying to break the internet.
It was Nick Smith Jr
Yeah sometimes I think JJ gets too cute. Like Kleber in that other game.
Sure, their skillset might fit the situation but they are cold as fuck with no activity
NSJ was a decoy in the play
Probably remembered The Machine hitting some big FTs cold off the bench
You are correct, edited.
LeBron has no right to shoot 3’s like he did tonight.
The turnover happened with 28 seconds left.
I actually turned the game off when LBJ made that stupid dribble turnover.
Then I check back 5 minutes later for the score and it was halfway through OT.
It’s me. I did it. You’re welcome.
Same, I switched to PORSAS
Wtf porsas sounds so mexican soap opera
It’s kristaps’ new nickname.
I’m not even a fan of any team and I couldn’t handle it. I just root for LeBron and turn off the stream every 2-3 plays when it would get too close lol
Every single game there’s 38 different people saying because their dog just took a 💩 and they had two Cheetos so that’s why their team won the game . It was me guys, thank me!
lol I was chatting with my friend who did the same thing, he thought I was messing with him when I said these final 30 seconds are crazy as fuck
Luka and the Mavs came back from a 9 pt deficit in like 18 seconds back in 2022, it’s definitely possible
Why you bringing up old shit 😭 😭 😭 😭
My fault OG
I’m ashamed to say I turned off after Bron’s turnover. Then I came back to Reddit to see a despite the loss post about Sengun and went ???????????
You didn’t BELIEVE
Teams were 1713-1 when leading by 6 or more in the last 30 sec of regulation in the playoffs in the last 29 years. Only the 2024 Knicks have come back from that position before.
That’s a crazy stat
I mean it should be.
Because down 6 the other team can play the ft game, and it won’t really matter if they go 1⁄2.
2 incredibly lazy turn overs, and one really dumb foul.
Well they got gifted those FTs, Tate’s decision to foul Smart there ended their season.
Not when the other team have Jabari Smith Jr. or Reed Sheppard.
Awful decisions by them, late in the game.
I had to wake up at 3am so I legit turned it off after the second Bron turnover…
Rockets did it before, fittingly enough. Tmac scored 13 points in 33 seconds to beat the Spurs.
They did let it go, everyone except Smart
Yup.
And Smart wouldn’t have let it go in a Regular Season game either.
LeBron literally walked back in a two point game as Sengun raced down the court and then after he shot the 3 and missed on the following possession you could see that he gave up until smart stole the ball 🤣
To be fair, LeBron was absolutely gassed.
Hey I get it but he’s 41 and playing that many minutes. You gotta give him some kind grace on that.
He still made the game tying 3 and almost made the game winner on the last ATO.
Yea I’ve never been a Lebron fan, but even I can’t hate on him accepting defeat. Dude has been playing his ass off and it’s absolutely understandable to be gassed after carrying such a huge load. No Pause, I said what I said.
Bro you’re a Lakers fan and you say you’ve never been a Lebron fan ? What the fuck ?
Correct. I’ve been rooting for him since he’s been on the Lakers of course, but I was never a fan before. I was a big advocate for lakers and LeBron to go their separate ways last offseason. I am now beyond glad they didn’t.
Hes been a laker longer than hes been a cav in a single stay. Yall lebeon haters are just wierd.
Seriously. It just gets to a point. Enjoy basketball especially at this level from a 41yo
There are a lot of Laker fans that feel that way. I started being a fan when they signed him. I have alot of friends and family who are indifferent about him.
I think it was motivation. If its tied hes running down the court lol. But he thought he got fouled and he was tired and thought the game was out of reach so he just mostly gave up.
He also does this in the regular season a lot lol. Especially since hes been on the lakers. So its just like 8 years of seeing this. He’s got a tendency to not hustle if the game isnt close.
It was only a 4 point game at that point, I get he’s older and discouraged from not getting a whistle but it’s the playoffs, I was pissed at him for giving up before the game ended. Thank God for Smart
it’s called being tired. He is not supposed to play these minutes. Dude literally won us the game. I swear some of yall dense af
“You can see he gave up for a second” thanks bro!
And Lebron, if Bron gave up he wouldn’t have gotten the steal against reed lol
Smart provided the spark, LeBron breathed life into the embers
Fucking Smart was killing himself during OT. Unbelieveable willpower
One of the last possessions LeBron was walking back side by side w Sengun up I was WTF R U DOING
then Sengun turns it on, receives the ball and scores I was like WTF R WE DOING
You’re right. LeBron was throwing up hail Mary 3s. Didn’t get back on defence before Sengun scored again and Marcus willed us back. LeBron got back on defence after another miss and rest is history
Ngl this season felt like some pacers black magic shit comebacks clutch wins 5 game winners and now this.
Someone had to appease the basketball gods after Ty went down
Sacrificed Luka and Gabe Vincent for this
Yeah man, there have been a lot of crazy moments this season for the Lakers, they’ve definitely got the black magic on their side.
I mean, Austin’s ascension to all-star level and the Luka x AR duo coming out guns blazing, the solo AR run and his game winner against the TWolves, LeBron ending his 10 point streak in storybook fashion with a buzzer beater assist, all the clutch wins, the whole March run where they’re running through contenders, the craziest intentional missed FT play I’ve ever seen and the Luka game winner in OT, Luka scoring 100 points in 24 hours on a roadtrip back to back, and the AC-130 cam turnover in the Magic game and the Kennard game winning 3.
Then they get to the first round crippled and almost no one is betting on the Lakers to win more than like 1 game, but LeBron turns the clock back to 2020, Smart becomes DPOY level again, Luke Kennard becomes Payton Pritchard, and the Lakers crush the Rockets so hard their coach is probably getting fired. Wild stuff. If Luka and AR come back looking good, they’ve got some really good momentum going into the second round, and JDub is out. Who knows what’ll happen
You gotta mention what they did to KDs legacy, LeBron is beating up the rockets so bad he got a snake to fake an ankle injury just to avoid him
Lol y’all did “let it go” Houston just picked it up and handed back to y’all like “here, you dropped this”.
Lmao forreal, Jabari really said “Here is think this game belongs to you”.
Just a baffling decision
lebron had that psycho look on his face towards the end
Considering he had like 5 turnovers in OT and the last 2 min of the 4th
Bro really said lights are too bright for these bum rockets
If Marcus is on the court, it’s never over
Smart just never quit. Personally I think the Rockets thought they gave up too.
Bruh yall were literally about to let it go until marcus smart said no😂😂
him being this blunt reminded me of the rumor that he quit mid-game on Team Japan in the Olympics
Japan being racist towards him at the time probably didn’t help with motivation either
No. Rui hated hovasse ( coach of Japan). Racism had nothing to do with it.
Technically that depends on why he hates him (not that I know if it involves racism or not, just pointing it out).
It has nothing to do with racism lmao, but keep on spreading fake anti-Japanese propaganda lol.
If he really felt like that, he wouldn’t come back to Japan every summer lol.
Not being racist, but the Japanese work culture of going back to the office even though your company hates you to save face is totally a thing there.
its time for the classic reddit “but asians are actually the most racist people!!!”
LeBron for sure let it go but then smart gave him a shot
Doubt. He’s just giving a good quote. The Nuggets win was more improbable and they didn’t give up.
Based
Game 6 of the 2013 finals anyone ?
I mean the Rockets kind of just handed it to them and begged them to tie it up so they could lose in OT.
Saying the quiet part out loud lol
Adam Silver not gonna like this one
It wasn’t the playoffs, but I gotta throw it out here because it was so insane. 2004 the rockets were down 76-68 with 35 seconds left.
Tracy McGrady hit four threes (one of which was a four-point play) to win 81-80 over a prime defensive spurs team.
yall already did except for MARCUS SMART.
Dedication and persistence through adversity so hot rn

Man idc.. after that lazy pass turnover bron threw he was clocked out and me too lol Smart instantly clocked everybody back in
