It’s an attack from ownership because it frames it more as “The Warriors are sick of Kerr” than it does “Kerr got sick of the Warriors”

Uc berkley (nearby) has a history of being counter culture central, silicon valley (now co-opted by right wingers) is known for of pushing boundaries of thought, and in general SF has a lot of liberals who live there, more than average Californian city

It’s one of the most progressive parts of an already progressive state. The Bay Area was one of the areas that was at the forefront of the gay rights movement. They elected an openly gay man to their city government in 1978, which was unheard of at the time. They were also one of the first “sanctuary cities” to protect immigrants, have some of the highest taxes in the country, the strictest environmental regulations for new construction, and have basically been a hotbed of progressive politics for the past 100 years.

It is quite probably one of the most open minded places in the country, if not the world.
