Ayo ‘traded for no firsts’ Dosunmu in the win: 25/3/9 on 10⁄15 FG

25 points
3 rebounds
9 assist
10⁄15 FG, 0/3 3PT, 5⁄6 FT
I asked for Coby White and TC said i deserved better
I didn’t think they’d trade him since he’s a homegrown talent, but I was happy to be wrong.
Another Chicago guy finding new life in Minnesota.
D. Rose, Jimmy, Taj, who else am I missing?
Luol Deng
Thibs
The two responses to you are fake ass hoes
KEVIN GARNETT
Hi Kevin!
He’s who I wanted too (we should’ve drafted him back in the day, but the FO opted for the Jarrett Culver experience)!
Still think White is a good player, but I think we ultimately got the guy who fits better with this roster. The defense and breakneck speed in transition is awesome
Wolves fans def deserve better.
Ayo Dosunmu, Alex Caruso,Zach Lavine, DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Coby White were all on the 21-22 Bulls
They got a combined ZERO 1sts for them
keep going brother im ready to kick the chair
Hey man you were awesome 30 years ago
I can’t believe this. I gotta google it
How the helll
lol AKME
WHAT
At least they Giddey for Caruso. But damn that’s just embarassing lmao
BUT WE GOT NO PICKS FROM THE OKC WAR CHEST. I swear that AK was Nico Harrison’s secret half-brother—the only two GMs out there that think their studs are beans.
I think that Caruso for Giddey in a vacuum was good value for CHI as well, the problem with it though is it made 0 sense considering CHI needed a strip down rebuild and still does.
Giddey is still young enough to be in his prime when CHI is done their rebuild (assuming they actually do), so it’s still is okay, and Giddey is signed to a pretty good contract, so if they moved him they’d definitely get a 1st+, but yeah the rest of the assets being gone without a single 1st is borderline depressing to see, considering those were the core components to a team that was holding the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference in the middle of January.
Everyday is another monument to the Bulls stupidity
I refuse to believe this
My team name in fantasy 23-24 for like 2 months was Fire Marc Eversley, after they did nothing at the deadline. I’m not even a Bulls fan, I just felt their pain.
Please don’t remind me. A new era is hopefully starting and I’m leaving the past behind.
Was the real reasons the Bulls took so long to blow it up because they don’t know how to ask for a first round pick back?
And Vuc
Ayo is a bench player. They got a first for Zach. Didn’t know Josh Giddey didn’t exist. DeMar was a free agent. Coby White is a permanent bench player. Trae Young didn’t net the Hawks a first. The Raptors didn’t get a first for FVV and OG. The Wolves didn’t get a first for KAT. People don’t keep the same energy, always hating the Bulls. Want to hate the Bulls? Then mention other teams too
Don’t forget you kept Pat Williams so everything is fine
Trae Young returned CJ McCollum who’s been a legitimately fantastic fit for the Hawks and they’re still an actual playoff team despite it.
All the teams you mentioned are also still actual playoff teams lol and the returns are what kept them being playoff teams. Why are you defending your franchise for making WOAT decisions lol
Because everybody has a double standard against the Bulls. Zach Lowe recently said on a podcast that the Grizzlies can be a fun 34-win team next season. He also said that the Miami Heat can be a frisky 41 team next year. Heaven forbid, if the Bulls end up between 34 to 41 wins next year, the media will slander the Bulls as “mediocre” and “stuck in the middle”
In the 21st century the Bulls are a fucking joke franchise compared to the Heat
The double standard exists. If the Bulls are mediocre if they win 34 games, then call out the Grizzlies if they win 34 games. If the Bulls are mid for 40 games, then slander the Heat if they win 41 games. Media doesnt keep the same energy. They always target the Bulls
The Wolves did get a first for KAT. The Pistons pick that ended up being Joan Beringer.
The Wolves didn’t get a first for KAT.
Correct. They got a first and two of our current starters.
The ayo trade absolutely saved our season
Yeah but we also had to give up a guard who will be out of the NBA in two years tops
Leonard Miller could turn into something ig
I did find it odd how long he was just chilling in the G league without ever getting some minutes.
I assumed staff knew something about him being mid but maybe was just redundant positioning.
He nailed down a spot in the rotation for Chicago at the end of the season (albeit they were tanking)
I did hear good things from Bulls fans and at the end in 18 games for 28 mins he averaged 14.7⁄7.3 on 63% TS
That’s cool! Good for him
He’s always been a high IQ multi tool guy, but he was never getting minutes over KAT, Rudy, Julius, Naz, Kyle or even Jaden if we went super sized. Very happy he will get a ton of burn in Chicago
He was legitimately horrible whenever he got spot minutes on the main team. Zero nba level skills. Seems like a nice guy and glad hes taking advantage of a new situation with more room for error but also happy hes not on the team anymore lol.
it’s really unfortunate how rob dillingham turned out but if bones hyland can be a contributor for a playoff team then there should still be hope for him to be a nba player
Bones was outstanding after Ant got hurt, averaged 14+ points on 60 TS% and played solid defense. Ideally, you’d like someone like Tre Jones or TJ McConnell as the bench PG, but Bones has already hit big shots in this series and he deserves to be in the rotation.
Difference is Bones has a 6 inch longer wingspan and has a couple inches of height on him. He also has great shooting form. That goes a long way. With all of that, Bones is still more of a bit role player and might be maxed out as that. Rob has big hurdles to reach that role, so the upside isnt huge with him
What? Conley came back
Nah Rob Dillingham played well for Chicago. He’s only 21
The saviour of the state of Minnesota
Renee, Alex, Ayo 👊
Cringe
immensely cringe idk how anyone sees it otherwise
Wait until he hits a 3
legitimately season saving trade
I said Ayo was gonna show up for a big playoff game and ‘drop like 25 or something’ but I was just talking my shit.
And just look at him go
Low-key amazing trade.
Guy is so Damn quick to the hoop.
He cooked us in that late season game without Ant. I’m not at all surprised he’s been a key factor in their success this series
He abuses the shit out of lazy transition D with how quick he is to drive. It’s insane how he has this instant recognition to a gap in the paint.
It’s so effective because his touch at mach 2 is marshmallow soft. Dude does not miss no matter how fast he’s going.
I expect it to drop every time he goes to the rim.
Incredible touch around the rim too
Led the team in scoring. Such a great pickup. He’s actually a better offensive player for us than NAW was.
I loved NAW but he never got downhill like Ayo does and when he and Donte went cold from 3 we really felt it. Miss him dearly though he was such an awesome player for us.
He fits the team better than NAW. Like how Kuminga is a stud on the Hawk bow but didn’t fit into the Warriors system at all.
Which is funny in Kuminga’s case because he wanted a bigger role with the Warriors but how he’s playing now off the bench is exactly what the Warriors wanted from him.
Never forget when he went crazy during that one game in the Conference Finals tho
The Bulls are an unserious franchise for giving him and Coby White away for spare parts.
I just read a article that said The bulls didn’t know the value of their own players.
big if true
The Front Office were trying to save their jobs Jerry and Michael told them to pick a direction. They choose wrong and got fired came out that the Owners wasn’t involved.
He was amazing. Could be an amazing starter too tbh
Only reason he isn’t is cause Donte is a playoff demon and the coaching staff were the only people to remember that
People forget the Donte train, it happened last year. He gets hot in the middle of the year, does worse towards the end, and then rises HARD in the playoffs.
there are people in our sub in the last PGT that still forgot…
Donte is an absolute dawg
Bones was on the nuggets and fans called him trash just like they called mpj trash and Murray trash and kcp trash and many more. Jokic cartel
Bones has turned his game around. Same thing that happened to NAW. Minnesota coaching staff is really good
He will be next season
Such an absolute steal of a trade.
Especially given how great a fit he is on the Wolves and the hole he fills for them.
So many other contenders should have been in on him.
Not to mention we can all stop vomiting when rob dillingham steps foot on the court
Chicago not wanting to pay him is still so odd to me. Hes 26 and would only cost $20M (maybe less)
Born and raised and went to college in Illinois too, you think that would count for something (on top of the fact that, y’know, he’s a good player).
Everyone like that is moving to Minneapolis anyway so Ayo fits right in
Bulls just giving away impactful guards
And they ended up with a shit ton more guards to continue being a guard farm team.
And no 1st round picks lmao
and the knicks traded FIVE FIRST ROUND PICKS for a 0-3 and -26 guy
Rockets FO are dumbasses for not trading for this guy
Wolves need to extend this guy. Dude was the exact shot in the arm this team needed
Bulls were just giving out their best players for free
I get it is fun to clown on the Bulls, but Leonard Miller was actually looking really good for them down the stretch of the season.
It is possible that in 18 months time this trade is looked back at as a Bulls win if Miller turns in to a starting level PF.
Miller could be good, but hes always been good in the g league style of open play. Thats what the Bulls were doing while he was there. He couldnt play in structure in a team game in MN. He certainly could get there, but its hard to judge too much for his Chicago play this year
He is for sure quite raw still. But he was showing clear and quick improvement as he got playing time.
Bulls got a lot back too. Dillingham has a shot at becoming something. And then some 2nds as well for a soon to be free agent.
Last year Ayo had a really bad season too, with injuries mixed in. They couldn’t have gotten more for him if they traded him earlier.
And if they are doing an actual rebuild, resigning a 26 year old, who has been up and down his entire career, to a market value contract, is a risky move.
I like Ayo. Hope he keeps playing well, and gets a big payday this off season.
He was okay in meaningless end of season ball. I’m not sold yet, we’ll see if it’s replicable next season.
TC getting NAW for a few years as a throw in, then getting ayo this year for a bag of chips
Literally every-time he gets the ball is a potential fast break.
I’ve seen him turn a possessions with 8 seconds left on the shot clock into a fast break somehow
There’s been some cheap grabs at the deadline that have been absolute X factors in the playoffs so far.
Luke Kennard in LA, Kuminga for Atlanta, Ayo now for the Wolves.
And they’re doing it against teams that didn’t make moves. Rockets desperately needed a PG and didn’t do anything. Knicks tried for Giannis but forgot they sent the Brinks truck for Bridges (lol), and Nuggets wasn’t really in the market but their lack of depth and defense is showing.
He’s such a weapon. I can’t believe how good he is.
Denver’s worst nightmare of an archetype is ayo. They got no POA defence so he just gets open lanes to an exposed jokic who has no chance to get a stop when the speed is coming down hill.
Incredible that there wasn’t more demand for him at the deadline
Well he’s no patrick Williams
For Dilly Dilly
I’m just glad he’s getting the chance he deserves. Fuck AKME and Reinsdorf btw
Dilly was kinda a first
Dillingham isn’t worth more than a 2nd or two atp in his career tbh
He’s worth less than that. He’s due something like seven million next year, a team option before next season at nine million in 27-28. You can find a guard off the scrap heap (like Bones Hyland) on a minimum or two way who is just as likely to be useful.
In two years Dillingham will be available for nothing.
He looked ok to close the season even if the Bulls closed 5-13
Hell yea 🥲
The Rockets desperately needed a PG and could have gotten him for cheap. But they instead they are making KD the Point Guard.
The Bulls
Rockets wouldn’t trade Tari for Ayo
