AG wasn’t saving them in Game 3; they desperately need him though to win the series, IMO.
He did, Denver defensive hole is getting wider while rudy locked jocker down all day in the paint. This seems bad for the nuggets now as I don’t see any effective adjustment they can make.. Their offence usually covers up for their defensive liabilities, which is not working against these DAWGS.
Yeah that’s the crazy thing. Usually the other team has to limit their offense by putting their best defender on the court even if they can’t shoot so they can even attempt to slow down Jokic.
But Gobert is playing him straight up so we don’t have to do anything crazy and our offense is just feeding off the transition buckets. Even if Gobert can’t create his shot he’s effectively cancelled Jokic so now he’s a net negative instead of his usual dominant self.
Jokic can’t provide more value on offense than what he gives up on defense so now all of a sudden he looks bad. And because he’s their biggest guy and offensive hub there’s not much they can do at all. The DHOs make it a 2 on 1 every time and make Jokic’s suspect defense visible every possession he’s targeted.
If AG is out for a long time then Jokic is just going to get picked apart with DHOs. He’s probably missing shots too because he’s gassed and can’t hide on a non threat on offense like he usually can. Gobert has looked way better on offense than he has in the past which is huge.
Yeah Gobert being able to play Jokic straight up without fouling out is MASSIVE.
Makes the job of all the other defenders sooo much easier on offense and defense.
He’s the best defender in the world, Idc what others say. No one else is able to guard Jokic like this.

Nah there’s a big difference because Gordon would’ve guarded Randle and stopped the bully ball. There’s nobody else on the Nuggets roster that combines his 2 way ability. That’s why the defense looked even worse than game 2 with a hobbled AG.
Cam is too weak, Brown is too small, Nnaji and Jones are unproven and Peyton is hurt. If Jones gets switched off of Randle they have to help and that just causes cascading problems everywhere. Especially so because Jokic is no rim protector.
I mean from us Nuggs POV it was a shit game all around. Credit to the wolves defense but the nuggs were also straight bricking all night. I try not to have knee jerk reactions though because the nuggs can still surprise me. Maybe I’m just and old head but I don’t catastrophise from one game anymore
