True to an extent but Deni can create and Scoot has looked great in this series. There is more flow to the offense than the Magic or Rockets. Those teams never look like they have any set plays. The blazers just aren’t consistent which isn’t uncommon for a young team.

I swear sometimes I don’t understand how NBA coaches can be so bad at feeling momentum. Or maybe they’re just so stubborn they think their guys are immune to momentum even as they’re watching it unfold right in front of them.

Watching Kings games the last few years, Mike Brown was horrible with timeouts and Doug Christie has been arguably worse (although we appreciate the contribution to the tank). If I had a magic button that could make a team call a timeout, I could have saved the Kings a solid 100+ points per season off of obvious momentum runs that ended up in a timeout called 1-2 possessions and 3-6 points later anyways. Sure, I might have called a few extra timeouts in situations that ended up stabilizing anyways, but only maybe once every 2-3 games.

And I’m just some guy. I certainly don’t think I’d be better at calling timeouts than EVERY coach or anything. But I do think it’s a surprisingly uncommon skill that is a big part of what separates just “decent” or even “good” coaches from truly great ones.

100%. We are a young team that still climbing the mountain. Young teams will be nervous, it’s a new experience, but you realize it’s the same thing just intensified. Add in all the extra noise of being overrated nationally, can’t shoot, can’t win playing their style forever, no playoff wins since 08 at home, Detroit as a whole underachieving, no playoff wins at home in New arena (until today) and it definitely adds to it.
