Idk. McDavid is right there, but I think people just look at the 80s numbers for Gretzky and write it off due to goaltending, but he was still putting up great seasons in his mid 30s during peak dead-puck era. He retired in 1999 after a 62 point season, but he put up 90, 97, and 102 in the 3 seasons prior. The game in the latter half of Gretzky’s career wasn’t that dissimilar to the one McDavid started in.
