He is 100% a number 1 option. He just cant be the number one ball handler and distributor. His success has always come with having a proper point guard. He doesnt have the skill or talent to distribute or pass out of double teams effectively like lebron james does. 

He needs a second elite handler next to him, like Curry / Kyrie / Westbrook

yeah hes probably the best plug n play player ever to just drop onto a team and give you efficient scoring but he’s not the guy to run an offense. He’s not gonna have teams scrambling all over on defense like Curry and he’s not playing chess putting everyone in place for mismatches like LeBron.

I still don’t get why they didn’t want Harden back. Udoka has no offensive system, if anything, he should be happy to hand over the reigns of the offense to a player like Harden.

Not this bad, his subpar passing ability makes doubling him a lot easier compared to other stars. He legit needs someone to set him up and Rockets not getting a pg is just putting him in the worst possible position.

If you see when houston tried to blitz/double bron his coverage recognition was fast. Hard to double guys who can recognize it quick and are good passers.

Not a single person on the Rockets is consistently punishing them for constantly doubling KD. Fact is the minute FVV went down for the season this year wasn’t gonna yield anything.

Most of the people here aren’t concerned with the reality of why things are playing out this way, just focused on getting narratives/jokes off.

Think so…? At the very least, the teams that he’s in helps mask this weakness. With the Thunder, there’s Harden and Westbrook handling the ball, in Warriors it’s Curry who gets the double teams, in the Nets there’s either Harden or Kyrie to split the attention, and in the Suns there’s Booker.

Problem is that in Rockets there’s no actual PG to help him, so he’s stuck with both the ball and the double team.
