It wasn’t just the last game of the season, it was fan appreciation day. Snell also held out until the end of Spring Training for a multiyear deal, didn’t get one, and then repeatedly bitched about the Giants wanting him to pitch and actually be a part of the rotation, when he was behind in his preparation because he didn’t sign earlier.
Then made 6 bad starts in the first 4 months of the year, threw a no hitter, was pretty solid down the stretch, and then bailed as quickly as possible before the season was even over. Overall vibes of a guy who really didn’t want to be there.
He also misled the team about being in shape during spring training which was an issue because he signed late. He then got hurt after having a case of the sucks to start the year and got pissy when the Giants encourage him to come back urgently because the team we starting to win games.
Was a big cry baby about the Jays shitting on him in the World Series
