Ball Lightning “Zero” Duration Titan

What it lacks in damage it makes up for by being very pretty.
What does this even map like?
It’s honestly not too bad. Self-cast Ball Lightning does decent damage and the Palm of the Dreamer pops help clear packs, then you drop Thunderstorm on rares and they die pretty quick. You have to use weapon sets so that Thunderstorm actually has duration, and that does mean losing a lot of reduced duration for Time of Need, though it hasn’t killed me yet.

ball lightning/lightning warp is decent but the damage is mostly from lightning warp
Yeah, exactly. I do love that combo, but I wish Ball Lightning was more than just for sacrificing to Lightning Warp haha
It is really weird that a projectile with so many unique properties just doesn’t use them for anything
PoE 1 was the same. Trying to build around self-cast BL just never felt rewarding enough.

It seems like magic that people figure stuff like this out. But, I do not understand why you have points that both increase and decrase skill effect duration, how do they work together? Also, the blood magic skill and mind over matter, how do they work together?
So all the core components are on weapon set 1, and Thunderstorm is on weapon set 2 because it needs longer duration. Time of Need’s life recovery intervals can be decreased with reduced/less skill effect duration which this setup gets down to 0.03 from 9.x seconds, but that means that Thunderstorm (and the Drenched effect that enables this setup) have like 0.02 second duration, which is unusable. Putting Thunderstorm on weapon set 2 means that you can use weapon set points to have increased duration just for that weapon set. So you set that to only use weapon set 2 and the self-cast Ball Lightning to only use weapon set 1, which allows you to swap between them quicker.
Blood Magic is being converted to Sacrifice of Flesh by the Amanamu Undying Hate jewel, which gives: “When taking damage from Hits, 20% of Life Loss is prevented, then 150% of Life Loss prevented this way is Lost over 4 seconds”.
Hopefully that makes sense haha

Can Ball Lightning “shotgun” with multiple projecitles? I.e. all 3 balls from the same cast zap the same target. Or is it only 1 hit per cast?
Unfortunately not, otherwise that would be a great way to scale it. Only one ball per cast can hit the same target.

Yeah, unfortunately it’s one of very few sources of reduced skill effect duration. I’d much rather use another offhand if we could get 8% elsewhere. When I bought it, it was around 100 div which was 4-5 Temple of Chaos clears for the Fate fragments, but now they’re up to 600+ div because the economy is even worse than it was
