You need to specify how exactly you are crashing as this is crucial to determine what’s causing it. Is your PC crashing as a whole (i.e restarting) or is it just the game crashing to desktop? Or, are you getting the known crash issue where the game gets the cogwheel loading screen and it recovers itself without actually closing the game?

I also bought a new PC last year (9800X3D + 5080) and had a lot of issues initially with PoE2, including BSoD’s (only in PoE2) and crash to desktop issues. The BSoD’s were the result of the motherboard shipping with an outdated BIOS that was riddled with stability issues, when I checked for newer versions there were literally eight new BIOS revisions all of which contained stability updates related to the 9000 series X3D chips specifically. The main issue here was improper factory EXPO configuration for the RAM which caused Windows to throw PFN_LIST_CORRUPT bluescreens in games. Only way to fix was to either disable EXPO in BIOS or run the RAM below factory spec (or update the BIOS, obviously).

If your PC is crashing entirely then you may have these BIOS issues, or you bought a PSU that is too weak for your setup (I assume you have 1000W+ minimum?). You can use CPU-Z to check your BIOS version in Windows (under the “mainboard” tab) and compare it to the latest versions on the manufacturers website. My new ASUS motherboard which was labeled “AMD 9000-series ready” shipped with the original 9000-series launch BIOS and was total garbage and very unstable with DDR5 5600+ RAM kits.

Crash to desktop issues I fixed by removing the undervolt on my GPU. I thought it was stable after stress testing, but it looks like it wasn’t. Games always load your GPU differently, stress testing software can be misleading. Removing the GPU undervolt fixed the issue entirely, haven’t crashed to desktop since.

Have you tried directx?

Check the windows 11 error log, to see what’s the crash log is about. And switch to DX 12. For some Vulkan works, for others DX 12 works.

Turns out its an issue a lot if people are facing(quick google search shows it)

I don’t know if your case is the same but in my case the game was asking my GPU to draw more power from my PSU which led to my PC instantly shut off.

Try DX12 mate.
Also, have you logged GPU temp, CPU temp, power limit states, temp limit states, clock speeds, RAM usage etc…?
I always start with that when trouble shooting crashing.
Latest drivers? Clean driver install?
In game performance overlay to see if anything looks odd there?
Cleaned out shader cache?
Bumped up shader storage limit from default in NVCP?

You need to narrow down if it’s just PoE or other games too. For me I was crashing only in PoE with a similar rig. But my fix was from dx12 to Vulcan. I tried everything else under the sun before that (literally built a new pc but same GPU)

I would run memtest. Recently faught with a machine crashing while in game and the whole time it was memory.

i recently had an out of memory error with 8gigs in firefox and like 3 with wow or something, plus all the bullshit from windows 11. (which is like 11 gigs, apparently.) i have 28 gigs of RAM, part of it cannibalized from another sytem that died, so not all matched channels. not sure what that was about, but i bumped up the size of the swap file and put it on a different drive from windows.

seriously need to switch to linux, this is redonk.

What fixed crashes for me, i removed cpu core 0 and 1 for POE2.

Wasn’t Vulkan for AMD? Nvidia is directx
