Running anything through KAT on a team with a size mismatch sounds like a no brainer but it seemed like they refused to give him the touches he needed to work his game.

The 2.43 one was also really awkwardly timed mid possession too. It feels like coaches misread the clock or something.

I think this is more an issue of strange NBA rules. I might’ve counted the play-by-play wrong but I think with the review, they only used up 6 fouls, so technically they had 1 left.
But they weren’t allowed to use it because you can only use 2 in the final 3 minutes of the 4th, and they had already taken them.
Each team is limited to no more than four (4) timeouts in the fourth period. Each team will be limited to two (2) team timeouts after the later of (i) the three-minute mark of the fourth period or (ii) the conclusion of the second mandatory timeout of the fourth period.
So their defense doesn’t get set. It’s actually a good idea.
