It’s the classic “fire the coach” mantra every team yells at when individual players struggle. Our offense isn’t amazing but we also had injuries all year - but we also see their identity they’ve had the last few years that he helped instill.

Players just probably need a new voice regardless, but he’s not “garbage”

I mean you and I have duked it out in sub but the basic jist is he’s a great rebuilder and a poor championship chasing coach because he doesn’t have the ability to put together a cohesive offensive plan.

And that’s okay, there’s a role for great rebuilding coaches. But Orlando isn’t it after they go all in with Bane. Because you can have a game plan like “defend everyone else and make the star beat you” with teams like Charlotte and Detroit - but you can’t have that game plan against a Celtics, OKC or even the spurs.

Then they added Desmond Bane while dumping some expensive dead weight.

Only to end up as a middling team this year.

Their stars are underperforming and disgruntled (one apparently demanding the coach gets fired) and the team hasn’t taken the jump people expected them to take.

That’s also ignorant of the fact that their roster has never been healthy at all this year. Continuity has been brutal. They sure look to be clicking right now, and that’s also on Mosley’s record too. If they won two series, then he’s gonna get to run it back.

I was on team “Bud should have been fired even after winning the championship” and I have similar thoughts about Mosley.

At a certain point you’ve seen what you’ve needed to see regarding a coach and the team. Short term results shouldn’t change that and if you let it you’ll end up just regretting it like the Bucks did with not getting rid of Bud earlier.

Not a magic fan but his game management is really really poor. He isn’t good at drawing up plays and he’s costed them a few times in the clutch.

The game i watched where I really saw that he needed to go was against Lakers towards the end of this year. Magic are up by 2 with 4 seconds on the clock. Ayton misses a free throw, Carter Jr gets the board and the Lakers basically give up. Nobody tries to contest it, they don’t try to foul him, he’s a good meter or two from the nearest Laker. This should be game over but no, Mosley calls a timeout for no reason. OK, fine, just draw up a sensible inbound play and they still win. Nope, the play isn’t good and they concede a turnover. Lakers use a timeout to bring the ball up and Mose fucks up with coaching the defense, Lebron is wide open for a lay-up but Paolo ‘blocks’ him and gets away with the contact. Now Lakers inbound, and for whatever reason Mose has Paolo follow Lebron into the paint when he’s already guarded, leaving Kennard wide open for the 3 which he of course buries for the win.

This is just one example, the guy is really shocking at game management, coaching defence and just makes silly blunders which result in the Magic losing games they really shouldn’t be.

Dude he can’t. I like the guy, but he is a horrible playoff coach. He actually said in a postgame “we don’t make adjustments” and he absolutely does not. You have about 2 years MAX before he losses the locker room.

He is amazing for development and a defensive culture - Cavs had #1 D for awhile With him- but that’s it. He is horrible in the playoffs and a horrible offensive coach.

I honestly hope you guys don’t win haha. Magic scare me way more than pistons. Cade and Duren are awesome. But the Magic have way more offensive potential when healthy.

And the problem is not even Mossley. Well maybe a little but it really comes down to Banchero. When he keeps his game close to the ring that team becomes really tough to defend. But often time he think he is a guard that should get the ball behind the three point line to operate. It’s major waste of talent being out there and a detriment to the rest of the team. He just needs to start his action around the elbows or inside the 3pt line. And perhaps Mossley is not telling him but he is a great motivator so more than likely he is and Banchero takes offense to it. That’s some bullshit from a player when the coach is trying to tell you how to be the most successful. Hopefully he understands that he has the tools to upset this Pistons team if he just plays the right way.
