Mazulla has always allowed kids and family around the team. Deuce is just the one that’s always been around as other people with kids moved on.
I remember a Mazzulla quote where he was encouraging players to bring their kids. His reasoning was something about their dads being away for half the season, so it’s important for kids to see what their dads are doing it for.

Mazulla implemented an open door policy for players kids to encourage a family type atmosphere. Al Horford and Xavier Tillman’s kids were around the team a bunch the last couple of years. Derrick White’s kids are still toddlers, and I think everyone else is child-free.
