[Highlight] The ball is knocked out of Nikola Jokić’s hands, Jamal Murray recovers at half court and throws up a desperation shot that grazes the rim resetting the shot clock. Murray then finds Aaron Gordon underneath for the easy two-handed dunk
Randle and Gobert having a crunch time CTE off
The double foul on Gordon was ridiculous, second half Randle is playing like he has poop inside his skull
This should be the textbook example shown to all players of why you should never stop playing until you hear a whistle.
Classic Randle jogging back
The Wolves are so frustrating to watch. They have so many brain farts. Throwing the ball at Goberts ankles on PNR, Goberts awful between the leg pass, this nonsense, mishandling rebounds, awful shots in the possession, passing up obvious mismatches. I don’t even care who wins and I’m frustrated. Lol
Imagine watching every game
In the nfl we have players celebrating before scoring and turning it over and it still happens. I think for the nba stuff like this and players stopping whatever they’re going to complain about a no call will always happen.
I honestly can’t believe the refs caught that
They can probably hear it
[deleted]
Calling them incompetent for a correct call seems a bit much
Thunder fans always have.. unique takes…
So does everyone their first 3 years of watching basketball
Nah, I was a child and new to shit the fuck up lol.
they made the right call. if its too close to call with the naked eye, let it play out and review. if it didn’t hit, violation and points are taken away, ball turned over. if they had called that and been wrong, that would have been worse
Wouldn’t it be just as bad the other way?
I don’t think the wolves could challenge this if it was the wrong call.
Sure, they are incompetent and not just using their eyes and ears lol
“The refs are incompetent because they got this call right”
This sub is full of fucking morons lol
No we can hardly tell. In case you didn’t know, the refs are actually on the court! Which happens to be a lot closer to the basket than the broadcast camera. You assuming they didn’t see it and screwed up even when they got the call right is braindead brother
You can see Zarba making a motion indicating the ball hit the rim at the 12 second mark of this video. They definitely caught this one
“if it works, it works!” ahh reffing 😭😭😭
Yeah there’s no way they caught that considering how they missed the obvious foul on McDaniels’ dunk at the beginning of the game.
Am I tripping or should this be a shot clock violation? You can clearly see that before the ball even hits backboard or rim that the shotclock timer is at 0.
Balls in the air. Doesn’t mater
Oh you are right.
You’re tripping. Only just started watching basketball? Ball just needs to be out of the hands.
You don’t know the rules, my guy.
And that’s why you play to the whistle. Multiple plays today where there is just one Minnesota player trying to fight off all the Nuggets while the rest of the team is on the other end watching
Yup Denver have been so subpar shooting and honestly have been quite sloppy themselves but the Wolves will miss their chance to steal HCA because they keep making stupid plays on both ends
If the series outcome ends up being Denver winning in 6 or 7 games this is the type of game you regret it’s very similar to a couple of games in Clippers/Nuggets last season
One of these cores won a championship and the other didn’t and that really showed at the end of this game.
Wolves have always been weirdly emotional and this season it feels like it’s finally boiled over. Once the bad starts rolling it rolls forever
Jaden punching a wall comes to mind lol
Denver in 5
Tbf that’s been the Wolves’ MO for the past few years. Their talent cannot be questioned, but they tend to make boneheaded plays which cost them games. In a 7 game series those add up.
And you absolutely cannot be making those mistakes against Denver.
ayo out there putting in effort all by himself : (
This play specifically was the nail in the coffin. These guys were on full tilt for the entire 2nd half, go on a run and then something like that happens and they just broke.
Do you mean Donte stopping the 4 on 1?
Respect to the refs for not fucking that up lol
And then they got a close basket interference call correct right after this. I was shocked at them getting two tough calls correct in a row lol
Honestly, there were a couple of bad calls in the first half, but otherwise thought they were pretty good
wolves destroying themselves late.
Seen this one before
Unreal 🤣
No team is winning with Julian Randle. That’s why teams get rid of him and get better.
Is that Julius’ brother?
Autocorrect but I’d rather his brother.
hey the pelicans got worse!
But, it’s the Pelicans. Forgot he was there tbh
Dude put up 22 PPG on insane efficiency in the playoffs last year, it’s one game
He had a 5 points game and a 6 points game against OKC. Dude just disappears when it gets tough. He was the same with the Knicks. Nobody’s winning with this bum lol
Exactly. That’s one game. The rest is a career of failure. Which will continue
That’s an entire playoff run. And half of his career playoff games.
Julius Newman in shambles smh
Watching Randle on the opposing team is so satisfying man
What an unfortunate series of events for Minesotta. Can’t wait for another 6 games of this matchup though, no love lost between the two rivals
6 games?
In the 7th game the Refs will win smh
glad they didn’t blow the whistle
Embarrassing
Wolves players really just stood there.
Randle just jogging back slowly like it’s his morning jog.
Want to give Jamal a little credit for recognizing and making the obvious play in time. Great pass. Same with Gordon getting in position.
Exactly as they drew it up.
Appreciate this fellow redditors, this is what execution looks like.
Timberwolves deserve to lose the series if this is how they are going to approach the playoffs.
Caught sleeping
To be honest, this was essentially the end of the game. Complete momentum change.
Wolves were making a big comeback, played a fanatic defensive possession, and then this happens.
Jokic is too good. Another triple double. His regular
Beautiful game
That’s one of my favorite sequences of the season. Incredible series of interactions coming together like that.
I re-watched the regular game angle of that shot 3 or 4 times, was positive it did not hit the rim!
Well you were wrong because it very much did hit the rim
That’s why there’s a slow mo replay which very clearly showed the ball hit the rim…
It’s amazing the refs so that rim graze but missed the ball being kicked past half court
Wouldn’t be surprised if they heard it rather than saw it
The ball was knocked passed half court by the Wolves. 100% legal if the defensive team knocks it past halfcourt and recovered by the offense, but it’s a backcourt violation if an offensive player knocked it past halfcourt and it was recovered by the offense
I’m not convinced either of these teams r rly contenders tbh
Peyton Watson is out, Gordon was in foul trouble, and the team shot sub 30 percent from three. Denver is legit.
And everyone just forgetting Wolves have gone to back to back WCFs like they’re some play-in team with no business being there
We about to win by double digits despite shooting <30% from three
Not gonna get 31fts every game tbf
Not gonna shoot 28% from three every game
Thats the point, the free throws offset the poor shooting. Most games you’ll shoot better then 28% from 3 but you also won’t get 31 free throws. It usually offsets
Guess it’ll keep offsetting and we’ll win by double digits again
Yeah I guess we’ll see, I assume Minnesota will shoot better from 3 too
Hey, we both shoot our season averages and that means we’re like 3-4% better
The eye test says both these teams lack juice
Do you only consider the Thunder, Spurs, and Celtics to be contenders? If so, I think your definition might be a little too strict haha.
Yeah that’s where I’m at lol, I’d put Denver in 4th followed by detroit and the Cavs. I just have a hard time seeing Denver beating spurs and okc back to back
That’s fair! I also think whoever gets out of this series will be more tired than the Spurs will be if they advance.
No shit it would be one of the hardest runs ever. Twolves, Spurs, OKC is an absolute gauntlet
I think that’s my whole point, it would be an all time great run to win 4 straight series against this caliber of opponents, I’m just not convinced that’s happening
Not sure you understand what a contender means
They need the Canelo juice
Once Peyton Watson comes back, the Nuggets will get a bit of a juice boost
