There’s a reason the rumors around him at the deadline involved us giving a couple of firsts to get rid of him.

The Poeltl saga with the Raptors is an epic one. Drafted, decent but not spectacular, traded to Spurs with Demar for Kawhi. Plays well with the spurs mostly in a reserve role. Raptors are ass and should be tanking in the Wemby draft. Instead we give up picks to take him back and proceed to lose in the play-in when the team couldn’t make FTs with Demar’s screaming daughter. We feel like shit having blown a pick on him and double down, extending him for money nobody was going to pay him when his body was already starting to break down. Unsurprisingly, his back is shot this season. When he plays, he rebounds OK and hits his shots at a high percentage since they’re all inside 2 feet, but is an absolute pylon on switches on the perimeter and is barely a presence inside.

The Jake Puddle Experience, selling for 30M a year for a very long few years.

It’s kind of wild that people thought out of all the first round series that this one would be competitive, you have one team playing the best basketball of their season after the Harden trade and the other kinda sputtering to the finish line and barely avoided play-ins.
