Really happy for the guy. He had a rough run during his first playoffs but it wasnt all on him. The rockets were just overall unprepared against the warriors experience.

they were the #2 seed last year, but the margin between them and the rest of the West playoff field was a few games

I think that a much lower seed not being favourite due to experience has happened before, only some teams have shown why they were the higher seed. Last time the Suns got to the Finals, the first playoffs in a decade or so for them and first for Booker, they were expected to lose against the reigning champs Lakers in the first round. But hindsight is ²⁰⁄₂₀, so we say the Rockets were unlucky and those Lakers were overrated by the media or whatever.

Insanely hot take considering how stacked the class was. Mobley, Barnes, Jalen Johnson, and Sengun have all been all stars. Suggs, Wagner, and Murphy are also all just better (and a number of players with lower counting stats like Herb Jones and Dosunmu are probably also better for most teams). Even if you’re ridiculously high on Green going forward, I don’t see how you can genuinely put him above Mobley and Barnes and Johnson, who have all consistently proven they can play at an all star to All NBA level.
