The switching is part of it, but let’s not forget that Draymond killed the word “tweener” after teams decided to pass over him in the first because of his height. You used to hear that about every undersized forward, and now it’s pretty rare.

Teams didn’t want to pick him because they thought he was too short to play power forward and would have to play the 3 in the nba. Wild in hindsight.

Not exactly him specifically per se, but the death lineup was a huge cause of the movement to smaller, more versatile centers/bigs. If you don’t know what the “death lineup” is then I’d recommend a google because it was an interesting (and very successful) experiment at the time, with Draymond being the biggest key to it working.

If you’re a slow center, Dray will literally trap or hard hedge and effortlessly fall back to stop the roll.

So you had to be a passing swift center (just like Dray) to even compete. All of a sudden teams realize that their best defense weapon (their 7ft rim protector) is more heavily nerfed.

If you’re a non shooting big/wing, Dray will help off you and clog up the paint insanely well. And rotate quickly to contest the corner 3.
