Jalen Williams asks the local media to sing him ‘Happy Bday’ before asking questions
Guys a freak, imagine enjoying yourself when people sing happy birthday to you (I’m definitely not projecting here)
Yeah this would be hell on earth for a lot of people lol
Love ya JDub, but this is a little weird
It’s weird to see someone be happy? Lemme guess, you’d be putting your hand up and looking away. Real brave.
Courage also means being comfortable letting other people see you be happy. It means that your happiness doesn’t come with any conditions nor expectations from other people. This isn’t cringe or corny, this is happiness. Everyone should be this happy, let themselves be seen this happy. What a world we might have if everyone were simply comfortable being happy.
[Personal anecdote related to this topic]
I remember during my 14th birthday, I had gone to some pizza + minigolf place in OKC called Celebration Station (If you’ve lived here at all, you know the place). I grew up poor so even getting to go to that place was amazing for me. I got the pizza, the cake, got to go-kart and play minigolf with my friends and family.
I bring this up because during the pizza party, the mascot came over and asked if we’d like some pics. I stood up immediately and put my arm around the mascot and smiled for the cameras. My grandpa was next to me too, he is… was a big inspiration for me understand how important being happy and being comfortable being happy around others really was.
My friends of course, did do the turn-away and pretended like they were anywhere else, until they saw how genuinely happy I was and how much fun I was having. They eventually caved and began having just as much fun as myself, and the rest of the day was a blast. I give a lot of credit for that great memory due to simply deciding I wasn’t going to reduce my own happiness so that others might be more comfortable. Instead, I’m going to make it so the only way they could be comfortable would be to join in on the fun.
So, be comfortable being happy around others. Invite them in to share that joy instead of concerning yourself with image or other’s comfort.
Or be a party pooper that is afraid of being seen happy. You pick.
No one’s reading all that 😭🥀
Provocative and insightful
These dudes do not live in reailty.
Sounds like a nightmare, I hate that shit
“now, jesters—entertain me whilst i proclaim how much disdain for you i feel.” /s
this is what influence should be used for (and cutting in line)
Very few players on OKC are likable.
Whats up with all the weird comments taking this seriously? Isnt it obvious he has good relationship with them considering its the local media and people in the video seem to be in good spirits? They are obviously having fun and he is just joking.
Ill sing happy birthday too cuhz
Ick
It’s a bit odd but not anything that crazy and certainly not something worth posting about lol
We had a thread about lebron quitting cookies with 5k upvotes
Just because something will generate useless internet points doesn’t make it worth posting lmao
Not the point, this isn’t the place for things worth posting, if that got upvoted, this belongs here.
I’m a fan of his but this is weird. I would’ve immediately dipped if I was one of the reporters.
It’s definitely a little strange but was probably just a joke that went a little too far
I’m crying wtf is this subreddit? why am I seeing the words “weird” and “too far” on a clearly lighthearted clip? you’re both insane 😭
Haters bruh
I’m literally a Thunder fan
Introverted internet weirdos whose only interaction with other people is via text on Reddit, discord, and when their moms text them “home with dinner” every night when she gets home from work.
Shut up. It’s weird. You don’t know anybody you’re talking to. Unless there is a lot more context to this and it’s like an inside joke between him and these reporters it’s weird. Why would anyone sing Happy Birthday to another grown man on command? At face value this reeks of “I’m a star and you peasants should entertain me on command!” I’m not saying this is the case. But, this is what it looks like without any context of the situation.
Well, found one.
Found one what? You found a normal guy that doesn’t perform and would be offended when someone says “Dance monkey Dance!!” If there’s more context to this provide it.
I hate okc but I’m gonna give the benefit of the doubt and assume he’s probably acquainted with most of them so it’s really harmless.
I’m surprised people are reading anything other than that with this. I would hate this shit if it were me, cuz I hate having that song sung for me, but I can totally see someone being goofy and having fun with it as completely normal too
