Derik Queen with 30⁄22 last night becomes the only other rookie besides Wemby this century to have a 30⁄20 game
I think Borrego made a mistake pulling the plug and benching him and Fears mid season. He started the season well and the offense was running through him. He was a triple double threat. He hit a rookie wall which is normal and they immediately benched him and started playing 60 years old Deandre Jordan over him. This is not how you develop a player. You can talk a lot about giving up unprotected pick for him but he is clearly talented and needed to keep playing a lot of minutes to figure out the league. Now he is behind in development next year and Pelicans sucks anyways. Bad job by the Pelicans
I think they had to because the optics of the pick.
They said that they are focused more on winning thats why they benched fears and queen and my brain stopped in that moment because they were starting Herb Jones at C over Queen
I knew this game reminded me of something. Wolves/Pels played against each other in the Summer league last July (Wolves won by 7).
4⁄9 players that played for Minnesota last night played in that game. 5⁄7 that played for the Pels last night also played in that game.
So it was basically a summer league game last night except with +1 year of NBA experience for everyone involved.
Beringer had 7 blocks last night and 6 in that summer league game.
i really liked him coming out of college. 30⁄22 is wild
Queen was going at Wolves’ rookie centers 1v1 and trying to overpower them. 11⁄28 from the field, he got rebounds after some of his misses, but it’s nothing crazy.

The IST started like 10 years after AD’s rookie season.
Oh my bad didn’t read the rookie part.
Haven’t watched that much of him but against the Celtics he looked very composed. Gets to his spot and can choose between muscle or finesse. Probably could stand to go to the line more but that will come with time. I think the Pels got one to keep for sure. This rookie class has been insane.
He fighting for all rookie spot
Glad to see a Maryland Terrapin do well in the NBA.
