At 6’11, Portland’s Tiago Splitter is now the tallest head coach in NBA history to ever have a winning record in a season
This is my audition to work for ESPN stats and info, just a little cherry picked.

But, here’s where he stands. At 7’1, Bill Cartwright is the tallest coach in history. He coached the Bulls after Jordan left, though, and it didn’t go well. Never won more than 30 games and was out of there in less than three years.
Splitter was the second tallest, so that kind of makes it easy for him. He went 42-39 taking over from Chauncey Billups (who you’d assume isn’t coming back) this season, making his claim for the permanent gig, and earning the eight seed during the regular season. It’s Portland’s first time being above a 12 seed since 2021.

Some other notable tall coaches include 6’10 Kevin McHale, 6’9 Bill Russell (technically a 2 time champ) and 6’9 Larry Bird.
