Now that it’s all said and done it’s incredible that this team ended 5th in the East. We take those!

At the start of the season I would have been happy with play-in, but 5th! Unreal. We really need Dick to remember how to play ball again though.
I had their ceiling at 6th, but that was with everything going perfect.

On the broadcast they said if Orlando wins, we are the 6th seed. I don’t understand how that happens, can someone explain? Wouldn’t we be above Orlando still?
When two teams are tied in the standings the first tiebreaker is the head-to-head record.
But when three teams are tied, the first tiebreaker is the division winner amd the second tiebreaker is the head-to-head record.
Orlando lost, so Raps beat Atlanta by head-to-head record. But if Orlando won, it would be a three way tie and either Orlando or Atlanta would take 5th because one of them leads the southeast division (I say one of, because they’d also be tied and I don’t care to figure out that tiebreaker).

Orlando win would result in a 3-way tie between us, Hawks and Magic and IIRC the first tie-breaker in a 3-way tie is record vs division; since Atlanta won their division so they’d be the 5th seed
Not quite; division winner is the tiebreaker in a three way tie, not division record. Hawks won the division as you said, but the record doesn’t matter

Honestly I have no idea I think if the Magic win we are the sixth seed but if they lose we are the fifth seed cuz we have the tie breaker over the Hawks. But if it’s a three way tie then for some reason think division record the Hawks are the fifth seed
We only get 5th with a Orlando loss, as we lose the 3way tie because it comes down to division winner. We win a 2way.
