True that. I feel like the only people who were shocked about us last year were those that haven’t watched a Pacers game since 2021
everyone’s a slave to the moment and can’t understand that of course the team would like shit not having their star pg the whole season, turner leaving, a plethora of injuries, and then finally the team just committing to throwing in the towel for the chance to get a better pick to help improve the team whether that’s ideally getting pick 1-3 for another young piece to the core or using it in a trade.
The pacers team last year was unbelievably dependent on Hali last year so the results this year (both them sucking and the intentional tank) were obvious with him being out. I think I remember a stat where the Pacers were like 90% winrate when Hali got over 20 points, when he was scoring they were a ridiculous squad. I’m also fully confident they’ll be as good next year by the time the playoffs come, and potentially a lot better depending on the draft pick they net from tanking.
I can’t wait to see them next year

Eh Siakam and McConnell are getting older, Turner and Mathurin turned into Zubac, and Hali obviously is coming off an achilles. If that rookie doesn’t hit the ground sprinting I think they end up having to rebuild.
Siakams only going to be 32 and he got into the league at 22 and started playing proper basketball at 17. He has a lot less wear and tear than most players in the league and crazy endurance so he’ll be fine.
