Both amazing players, will be perennially all nba picks. I think Flagg just more upside than both given his defensive versatility, length and combined athleticism, and offensive polish. I think Flagg has a chance to be the best player in the NBA and perennially MVP candidate. 

As much as I like Cade and Ant, I don’t see either of them competing for best player in the NBA.

A lot of conjecture, but for me it’s Wemby #1 and Flagg number two for who I’d pick to be my franchise player for the next 10 years. And given the injury risk, I think there’s a case (albeit small one) for Flagg over Wemby 

Cade was a year older, also on a tanking team, and had a bumper start to his NBA career. If you were an NBA GM who had the option of picking between them right now, you might take Cade just because Cooper’s development is uncertain and Cade’s has mostly happened, but I think it’s pretty likely Cooper ends up better.

These players are great, but Flagg came into the league a year earlier and is projected to be better by the time he hits his prime. Obviously you pick Wemby over him but I don’t think anyone else.

I think that’s a reasonable stance given the history of players like Wemby and his personal injury history over the last 3 years. That said, in their prime, no injuries, I think Wemby will have the higher peak. We’ve just never seen anyone like him and his potential is crazy

not ridiculous at all. the post is asking us to consider whether flagg in year 6 will look as least as good as Cade does now. based on both of their rookie seasons and their ages, i think it’s pretty reasonable to project flagg as being better than cade at the same age.

I hate these vague arguments like tf does ‘not a leader’ mean? How does that compare against what Flagg is doing? What “leadership” has the rookie shown us this season?

Not saying that I would pick Ant over Flagg in terms of rookie skill and play, but we should do better when it comes to reasonable arguments.

What? No hes not. Buddy Heild mocked him for not being able to dunk. He can but go look for a big explosive dunk. You wont find one. Dude is not an explosive athlete, never was. He is shifty kinda but hes not quicker or faster than 90% of the leagues starting guards. Hes never had separating speed or movement. Its shifty reads and being long af.

The real worry is that his mid athleticism is gone and hes really unable to separate.

I understand why he wouldn’t be picked over Cooper but I gotta say, as a homer, when you get Tyrese you get a star and a whole ass culture. Hes the best dude and hes focused on winning and has a no quit attitude. Sorry Kings fans.

He proved in the playoffs he’s a superstar

Cooper still has more potential tho and is already looking like he can be possibly the best scorer and defender on a high level team. So wouldn’t be mad taking him over Hali.

personally i’m a cade over ant guy but that’s just me i think his ceiling as a leader is higher
