Nick Smith Jr is part of a top 2 game 82 tanking game ever.

Back in 2024, the Cavs intentionally wanted to throw the game to the Hornets to get the Magic in round 1 rather than the Sixers (when Embiid was still dominant).

So the Cavs who actually had a lead threw out a crunch time lineup of Emoni Bates, Damion Jones, Tristan Thomson, Isiah Mobley, and Pete Nance.

Nick Smith rained 3s to lead a 18-2 Hornets run (the only Cavs point were by Tristan Thompson that gave him 6000 career points)

Also the Hornets had iirc 4 steals and 3 blocks in the game’s final 4 minutes as the Cavs were going full disaster class.
