No… this is just blatantly untrue. He is objectively down on fast break points this season and his dunking has literally nothing to do with getting back on defence or what he thinks about his highlight (or lowlight) reel. He’s gone from the best ever transition scorer by far to an elite transition scorer which is why he’s still getting lots of dunks there, but your comment / explanation is absolute nonsense.

It’s mostly because he’s playing as 2nd or 3rd offensive option and when he’s playing that way he’s most effective off-ball as a slasher. When you have a player like Luka who is a generational playmaker and scorer taking the attention of the defence then LeBron is basically unstoppable with even a tiny bit of space to get to the basket.

It’s absolutely related to the fact he’s getting old and needs to conserve energy so he’s adjusted his playstyle based on the team, but somehow you made it sound like a negative thing regarding defence or LeBron being worried about how his highlights look… He’s actually defending quite well primarily because he doesn’t have to work hard on offence.
