Allen was a legit number one for several years, if there’s more possessions he would be taking more shots and would thus have more attempts. If they thought about the game the way they do today some of his midrange attempts would become 3pa.

If he takes an average of 1.5 more 3s a game shooting 41%, that comes out to an extra 50 made 3s in a season which is pretty significant.

If Ray led the league at 10.8, that’s like 80 more made threes at his rate (aka 5th highest all time).

As a Sonics fan who watched Ray a lot I get so disappointed that people just remember the 3s. The guy was just a flat-out scorer. Yeah he had an insane outside game but he was more than that.

Curry is going to finish his career with around 5000 threes.

Let’s be extremely conservative and say he finishes with 4500 (currently at 4244 and he made 186 in only 42 games this year and 311 in 70 games last year)

Kon would have to make 300 threes in a season for 15 years to hit 4500.

If curry gets that number to a more likely 5000 then then Kon would need to make 300 threes in 16 different seasons to hit 5000

• Only 4 times in league history has a player not named Steph curry made 300 3s

• Nobody besides Steph curry has had multiple seasons with at least 300 3PM

• a player would need the equivalent of 15 such seasons to break the lower end estimate of what curry will finish his career with

It was impossible to play the way guys do today back then. Players who had the ability to play in a similar pace as todays NBA, never had the opportunity because the game didn’t allow it.

More efficient than Luka so I assume that’ll make up the net difference. The volume might not be as much but he’s going to be at least 5 percent more efficient. He’s like a plus version of Klay on offense, so somewhere between Klay and Steph. 

Young Ray Allen was also one of the more athletic guards in the NBA too. Not Kobe level but on that level behind him. He had the Malik Monk type of athleticism where if you give him an open lane, he could glide right through the opening and dunk on you. 

Ray Allen was an iron made In his era sure, Maybe he would still be today but have you not been paying attention to the insane increase of injuries and strain modern players have on their body due to the changed style of play in the league? There is a reason why most players can barely play 70 games nowadays and basically nobody plays 80

Can’t act like Ray would take advantage of the increased threes of this era but not the likely possibility of his body taking a higher toll and having defenses that lock in on 3pt defense.
