[Highlight] LeBron James hits the baseline turnaround jumper to close the half with 22 PTS, 2 REB, 5 AST, +13, and a scorching 90.2% TS
He’s legit not even close to done playing wise lol
At minimum a good 3 years left, depending on his usage
And good 3 years left playing at a high level then maybe another 3 years reduced role then maybe another 3 years 6th man coming off bench and then maybe 3 years just end of bench Jingles type
One of the only accolades LeBron doesn’t have is 6MOTY. Would be funny if he stays in the league pushing 50 so he could add it to his trophy case
Savannah if you can hear us….
I think we’ve been saying he’s got at least 3 good years left now for 5 years lol
I said this last offseason and I’ll say it now too I’ll believe he’s washed when I see it. I’ve just completely stopped considering his age as a factor
25 seasons sounds good. Quarter century then end with the LA Olympics
I want him to have a grandkid while in the league
This fuckery WILL go on for much longer, thank god
I doubt it. He won’t regress but he’ll retire soon.
I dont see how Jordan v Lebron is still a conversation. Hes the greatest player of all time all around. The longevity alone will never be matched.
If you only count championships, Jordan is higher but then bill Russell is higher than Jordan and everyone else. Championship is a team accomplishment. Just basic logic. But the obsessive haters don’t understand or acknowledge logic and facts.
LeBron carried some of the worst teams to the NBA finals single handedly. That’s the curse of LeBron. His finals record would’ve “looked” better if he got bounced in the playoffs more often instead of carrying bums to the promise land like some anime protagonist.
Not only did he carry some bad teams but he went to what? 8 straight finals. If thats not dominance idk what is.
But but but but, the east sucked! Like it didn’t suck for most of Jordan’s runs and like expansion didn’t water down the league for all of the 90s.
Wasn’t there a stat to refute this? I could’ve sworn there was a season or so where Lebron still whooped tf out of the west even if he was playing in the east. Shit was CRAZY.
I grew up watching and idolizing Jordan. Lebron is better. Just like eventually someone else will be better than LeBron. People are just haters.
How about if I only count 3peats?
Bill Russell is not considered higher coz he played in a league with 8 teams and was average on offense.
Like if you’re tryna glaze Lebron at least make arguments that stand up to basic scrutiny.
but this fuckery won’t go on for much longer, thank god.
But will it continue in a Lakers uniform? 🤔
If you were around in 2009ish SAS and skip both said LeBron better basketball, but Jordan a better winner. It only flipped once LeBron got a chip.
I’ve seen both play in their primes. One reason other than the championship hardware is the absolute fact that Jordan was far and away so much better than any other player that shared the court with him. The difference between him and the next best player was light years. Has LeBron really ever been that much better than any of his contemporaries? The answer is no. If Jordan and LeBron actually played at the same time in their primes Jordan would make LeBron look average on the same court.
Lmao Jordan would be bounced by harden, curry, kawhi, honestly any modern superstar or team. Basketball evolves just like any other sport get the fuck over it
And by your dumbass argument wouldn’t Jordan have evolved with those players if they were in the same era? You young mutha fucks are so damn stupid. Do you think the guys that have evolved into the guys they are today would somehow magically still be in the same state of evolution they are now if they played in Jordan’s era? It’s all relative the best is the best in any era. You can’t use this as argument to say who would be better. It doesn’t make any scientific or logical sense. All you can do is compare based on what they did against the best at that time. You idiots act like you can just go back in time as who you are now. Just unbelievably stupid argument.
It does lol. It’s about the greatest and best of all time not the greatest of who coulda been or who was the best compared to everybody else at the time. By the same metric bill Russel or wilt should be the goat
In order for your logic to work time would literally have to stop. Bill Russell and Wilt are in the GOAT conversation. You can’t use this argument without being able to stop time. You guys that use this argument are so dumb that you don’t even realize that you’re dumb.
How can you not see that if Jordan Russell and Wilt were playing today that they would have evolved just as much as today’s players have evolved?
I wont go so far as to make the plumber arguement, but to say he would make Lebron look average is crazy. LeBron has the issue of basketball being a much more international sport with much deeper talent across the board. Just because there is less of a talent gap doesnt mean LeBron isnt in the same realm as Jordan, it just means there are lot more guys now who have closed that talent gap
The talent gap would be the same. I’m trying to explain the same thing to multiple idiots here. If Jordan played today he would have the same advantages that you think only today’s players have. The argument that players are more athletic and skilled today is the dumbest argument ever. In order for this argument to make any sense you would literally have to stop time and drop a player into a different point in history. It’s not possible. The athleticism and skills of today would not exist back then and it would be the same both ways.
Im saying a wider pool of potential naturally has a larger group of players in that top echelon. So instead of a pool of ~50 million kids generating 1 MJ level player, a pool of ~300 million would maybe generate 6.
And no need to be rude
My fault. I actually agree with you. My response to you was really directed at this mob of other people trying to tell me that today’s players are so much better than in Jordan’s era because they are more skilled and athletic. I misunderstood what you were really saying. Sorry
Because Jordan won actual hardware more, what kind of stupid statement is that.
Bill Russel is the goat by ur standards.
Why not, tier 1 for me is MJ, Kareem, Russell.
Robert Horry is better than Michael Jordan. 7 rings is greater than 6. This is the logic we now all must live by forever.
Right because championships are the only hardware I’m referring to, not MVPs, dpoys, and finals MVPs. I swear some of you guys are intentionally stupid to get a point across.
I don’t disagree with your arguments but why don’t you consider LeBron t1 also?
LeBron could’ve been t1 if he won another mvp/dpoy or defended his title in 2017 or 2021. His championships outside of Miami just felt too lucky for me to put them at the same level of the dynasties MJ, Russell, and Kareem (+magic) were on.
That sounds like a team accomplishment you’re attributing to an individual, you even mention magic
I think there is an argument to be made about the parity and amount of superstars in the modern league when looking at LeBron’s stats
What’s the argument for Kareem over LeBron? Serious question. Kareem’s crowning achievement was the insane longevity he was able to sustain, which Bron has eclipsed at this point.
Is it just because he won two more MVPs in literally the worst era of NBA history, the ‘70s?
More MVPs and more championships, pretty simple
Is 6 rings with 2 FMVP really better than 4 rings with 4 FMVP? Kareem best years were pre merger as well which definitely shouldn’t be discounted. LeBron has been dominant in the most competitive environment the league has experienced.
Bill russel should be above them all because of Hardware.
That’s fair, I respect all 3 of their careers equally and I have no problems with someone having Russell ahead of Jordan, or vice versa
Russell should be in his own tier, clearly.
Fair
Literally no one is buying your contrarian BS. I fucking love Bill Russell and he is inarguably the greatest winner in the history of all sports (as well as the best ambassador the game could have ever wished for), however pretending he was better at the game of basketball than LeBron is disingenuous on your part. Again, I love Bill but the man could not do all of the things on a basketball to help his teams win that LeBron has been doing for almost a quarter century. Go troll elsewhere child.
If you compare a player from the 60s to a player now, obviously the player now will be better, it’s a waste of time to think like that. It’s about how they performed in their era. LeBron hasn’t even won a playoff series since wemby came into the league, you can’t tell me LeBron is better at the game of basketball than wemby. In 50 years LeBron won’t even be top 5 because wembanyama Jr and bam adebayo Jr will have surpassed him.
The Bulls won more rings, of which MJ was the biggest part of them.
And Jordan won more MVPs, finals MVPs, and dpoys, you know, actual hardware. Like LeBron could play till he’s 75 averaging 20, unless he actually wins something that matters, who really cares.
if hardware’s all that matters why wouldnt Bill Russell be the undisputed GOAT and Jordan a sad plebeian in comparison? The difference between 11 and 6 is a LOT larger than between 6 and 4.
Bill Russells career is diminished by the lack of awards available at the time, if finals MVPs, dpoys, all defenses, and all NBAs were available during the majority of his career, he’d be the goat no contest.
So, because the awards didn’t exist, he’s not the GOAT, even though you think he would have won those awards if the awards existed? Meaning, you can see that a player has value even if they don’t collect hardware. Yet, a player not having hardware is the reason they are lesser in your eyes. I cannot see any consistency in that logic.
He’s in my tier 1 with MJ and Kareem, any one of those 3 could be the goat and I wouldn’t disagree. And despite those awards not existing his resume and hardware still stacks up with mjs and Kareems.
Yes, if you indeed only consider the parts of their career where MJ has an advantage and disregard everything else where LeBron has him beat, then I do agree that MJ is the GOAT. You have a very compelling argument.
Where does LeBron have him beat?
Sons actively playing in the NBA
Delonte west accomplished that in 2010.
meanwhile MJ needed Pippen again to get a date for his son
[deleted]
Russell, Kareem, and MJ are my tier 1
Yeah seriously Bill Russell is the best player ever and its not even close. Also Adam Morisson > Charles Barkley isnt talked about enough
Like Barkley doesn’t have an MVP lol, strawman.
Talking about some Horry > Dirk
If you ignore dirks finals mvp, mvp, and all NBA teams, yea horry is better. Dumbass
Yeah, but Horry’s got more actual hardware. Hardware is very important after all. Dumbass
Cavs will get bounced r2 with this core again and their fans will say “no we simply cant give up jarrett allen for lebron dude!!” btw
Generous assumption they’ll make it that far!
Harden playoff meltdown > Spida asks out > Welcome back DWade
Im not delusiona, I’m hopeful
It’s so sad to think about how it is first time in years he really saved energy for playoffs, because yeah, of course his athleticism declined, but when he is relatively fresh he is still absolutely a top player. Maybe even top-10. But his main issue (besides injuries) is how gassed he becomes under load - and it’s absolutely normal for his age.
But this year he really could enter playoffs fresh and in a role of third option. Don’t think Lakers would win a chip, but that could be really interesting playoff run and Lebron could really deliver.
Now he would have to play 48 minutes to take a single game at best from Getoffmydickerson and poor, very poor man’s Jokic.
I love that “getoffmydickerson” is becoming a canon nickname for KD lmao
“Lakers are better without Lebron”
Imagine current Lakers team without Lebron.
I’d be off reddit till October
Words cannot express how crazy this shit is
He read that post yesterday about not getting 40 pts this season.
Worth over $1B as well
Love watching him
close enough, welcome back 2018 Bron
Where’s all of the people claiming he’s not worth his contract?
A couple “great” games against teams missing their best players isn’t gonna change my mind
Why is “great” in quotes LOOOOOOOOOOO
U haven’t seen what u/fanpreparation8538 can do out there, that’s true “greatness”
I have not seen evidence this man doesn’t still have a gear he can shift into at will that turns him into the best player on the planet circa 2018. Can he sustain it for long stretches? No. Can he sustain it for a playoff run? Let’s find out
Let Lebron smell blood in the water and I swear to you, that man will roll back the clock and give father time 12 rounds.
It could arguably be another legacy moment of his if he manages to hold the line for the Lakers until either Luka or Austin comes back for the playoff run.
Bron is probably saving this for the offseason, he’s been in cruise control while Luka and AR was in the team
dude really convinced us he is near retirement the whole season
this fuckery cant go on much longer
It can
“Top 1 % commenter” lmao a dedicatedinsert so that’s how you got that huh, pathetic😭
