Honestly gonna miss this jazz squad next year. Chandler is an interesting player but has his moments, Hinson made me dread whenever he got the ball beyond the arc because he felt automatic. These guys all had that dog in them fighting for an end of bench spot, took nothing for granted, played hard every minute. Hard to hate.

We were also the 1st/2nd most injured team before we started tanking.

The Grizzlies have 7 players out for the season. They had 15 players on their injury report. The only player they listed as healthy who didn’t play was 40 year old Taj Gibson. I’m not saying those injuries were legit (the Grizzlies medical staff, like every medical staff for tanking teams, 100% exaggerates injuries), but the Grizzlies only had 7 players, and arguably played the best 6 for the whole game.

I really hope they fine them. If resting starters in the 4th quarter of a game you won is finable failure to field an NBA team for a full game damn well should be.
Tanking has been a stain on the NBA for a while now, and this game was horrific from both sides. But I really don’t think we should put the blame on the teams, it’s the NBA’s problem for setting up an infrastructure that encourages teams to tank if they don’t have a playoff chance.
The more we fine and punish teams for tanking without actually changing the system, the more creative teams will get to lose games.
