Instead everyone just tacitly agrees that “FIRST” for 25-30 minutes is inherently important and meaningful, instead of even attempting to question if it’s worth anything at all to know something a half hour before the rest of the world finds it out and shrugs at it after 5 minutes upon learning it.

I don’t hate or love Doc, but I do feel like he is often a scapegoat. Sixers only got worse after Doc left. Clippers are always an underperforming dumpster fire as well.
I think Doc was a bad hire for our organization but it certainly isn’t entirely his fault. It’s a poorly constructed roster that has been trading anything and everything they can for the past decade to try to compete and keep Giannis happy.
We’ve literally had 23 minutes all season where our top 7 was available. We’re above 500 when KPJ and Giannis both play, and that includes multiple games where one of them got hurt and missed half of it, and a number of others where one or both were on heavy minutes restrictions.
It was a team built entirely around Giannis’ gravity with KPJ being expected to keep the offense moving and not get destroyed in non-Giannis minutes. We didnt have either of them for over half the season, and Giannis never let himself heal after the first Cavs game he got hurt in. So even when he was playing, he wasn’t GIANNIS. His defense was poor, he was huffing and puffing up and down the court, and stayed down an extra beat anytime he hit the ground.
Trading for Dame, then signing Doc, then refusing to accept the fate and stretching out Dame’s contract… All of those things together sucked all hope out of me. We’re going to suck for a decade.
