He was good, but basically the game has evolved past him.
Team management just see his overall win-loss from all those years plus the championship he got, and the reputation he has as a good locker room leader. Not his fault that teams kept hiring him still.
He also can motivate a team to be greater than the sum of its parts eg Orlando where he won coach of the year, and our 2018-19 season when we lost the core of lob City.
And he handled that Sterling saga very well. At least from his words to the press aside from that, he seems to have a good moral compass. And the press loves him.
