I’ve called Josh hart the most confusing ‘bad shooter’ in the league, and I continue to believe this.

Today he hit 5 threes after getting in a rhythm. Some games he refuses to take them. Somehow, he’s at 41.5% for the year.

Josh hart’s confidence from 3 is the most important factor for the Knicks entering this playoffs, and it’ll be fascinating to watch how teams play him

When I look at clips of his made 3s and his missed 3s this season, I don’t see any difference in his thinking. What I do see though is he is generally wide open for all of them.

People are guarding him with a center and generally will let him shoot. You can tell when Hart has a good or bad night based on how much he’s hesitating on taking the open 3. It’s not just the misses but his reluctance to take open 3s sometimes that kills our offensive flow.

Gotta pick your poison. The knicks have 5 good shooters on the court all the time unless mitchell robinson is playing. If you don’t help off of hart you’re giving up driving lanes to brunson or leaving anunoby, bridges, shamet, kat, mcbride open. There’s a reason they’re the favorites to come out of the east and knocked us out last year. They’re just a better team full stop

You’re technically correct but I think everybody knows the celtics ceiling is a second round exit. Tremendous season but there’s just not enough talent on this team to make a deep run. Our third best player had another 2-10 game, is shooting 39% from the field, and 52% ts which is really bad. Gonna be tough to get out of the first round let alone beat the knicks in the second round.

It’s not odd. It’s worked on and off before. Kornet was EXTREMELY good at daring him to shoot while making hart feel like he could still get somewhat of a contest in with his length.

Hart himself said during the Celtics series that he couldn’t fully figure out the matchup.

Its some kind of mental block happening. You can tell because he’s legit better at taking a contested, shot-clock-saver 3 than he is a wide open 3.

Brunson has been getting him going lately though, honestly, feeding him the ball at the right times and building that confidence up. And its been really important to us winning, because Mike Brown will legit play the dude even when he’s missing everything/ not shooting at all lol

He’s shooting 41.5% percent on real volume too. Last I checked it was something like 3-4 attempts a game. And he’s doing this on a fucked up finger (google if you want, but it’s gross). Gotta give him so much credit for working at it man. I love him. Buying his jersey tonight.
