Regardless, this is just a very nice stat and interesting. First time nuggets have ever won 10 in a row in the Jokic era and it’s compounded with a historically good 10 game streak by Jokic.

This was just too much words for no one averaged these numbers before across 10 game sample.

Which like, yeah, we knew that. Only Big O, Magic, Westbrook, Bron, Bird or Wilt could get that combo of rebounds + assists. And like, Bron and Wilt won’t get that many assists across 10 gamed, rest of the dudes won’t get that many rebounds

Many player put better points and I’m sure some also probably put better combos of just points/assists or points/rebounds but all 3 none touches Joker.

It doesn’t seem that random, they’re just saying no player has ever beaten Jokic in points, rebounds and assists over a 10 game span. Maybe in rebounds, maybe points and assists, but never all three.

That’s still a badass stat, considering it’s up against 1.4 million attempts.

What’s asinine about this? It’s a straightforward comparison of 3 of the most telling stats in the game over a ten-game span… how else would you want to think statistically about a current win streak?

My guess is that nobody was strictly better in all categories. Maybe? 

So Wilt, and countless other 10-game spans may have had more points. Some may have combined it with more assists or rebounds, but nobody exceeded all 3 stats.

Jokic has been very impressive these last few games, and the whole season. Very deserving of an MVP, but this statistic adds little of value

Yeah this is just a dumb stat. People complain on here about cherry picking but then upvote stuff like this. Obviously it’s an impressive stretch by Jokic, but this is literally just saying that nobody else has reached the threshold of exactly 252 points, 145 rebounds, and 127 assists in a 10 game stretch. It’s the same as those stats that say “Luka the first player with a 47-11-17 game” or whatever.

There’s been plenty of players who have gotten significantly more in two out of those three categories though. As Loud-Appointment-301 pointed out, Wilt had a stretch of 10 games in 1961 with 566 points, 293 rebounds, and 13 assists. That’s obviously more impressive from a pure numbers perspective than Jokic, he just fell short in one category

I got into this same argument yesterday regarding the post on Jokic’s crazy career playoff stat line (same deal, no one in NBA history has a career playoff threshold higher than Jokic’s P/R/A).

Dudes were arguing how cherry-picked it was, my post was basically the same as yours:

“Is it supposed to be less weird to pick thresholds based on the numbers being divisible by arbitrary numbers like 5 or 10, instead of numbers that directly apply to the point being made?

I mean it is pretty cherrypicked. Its not P+R+A its just a cutoff of an exact per game number. Which is impressive but id say Luka in March this year had a better 10 game stretch where he did have higher P+A+R (408 points, 75 assist, 74 rebounds)

So without looking, id bet that wilt does have multiple higher pra streches just without these exact per game cutoffs.

No, it’s not as cherry picked as you’re trying to frame it. The question is “Who has the most P+R+A over a 10 game span?” And the answer is Jokic. All that OP is doing is commending this stretch of excellent gameplay by Jokic.

All this says is no one has ever averaged this high P/R/A over any 10 game span, it doesn’t even require them to have won… not really a super complicated stat actually

Its not because luka had a larger points+rebounds+assist number over 10 games in march lol. Its just the only 10 games with atleast those exact per game stat cutoffs.

Except it’s not the most PRA in any 10 game span ever. Wilt, Luka, Oscar, and Westbrook have all had stretches with more PRA. The stat is biased in saying the cutoff is at least 25.2 points, 14.5 rebounds and 12.7 assists (for example, wilt has dominated averaging 50 points and 20 rebounds but only 1 assist)

Crazy how much this aggravates them.

If he wins Denver another championship here and goes through Wemby, SGA and the Celtics/Pistons/Whoever from the east, people will definitely elevate him to that top 15 discussion, maybe top 10. A third championship would definitely make him top 10 and possibly top 5.

Need multiple championships vs other future legendary peer players to be top 10. Can’t only have 1 ring over Butler and not SGA.

Not enough rings imo. Lebron would have 10 rings if he switched places with Jokic.
