[Slater] Steph Curry is now out tonight vs the Lakers on the front side of a back-to-back. Warriors are in Sacramento tomorrow night. That means zero Curry against LeBron James games this season.
They need to figure out how to flex these games. Like what are we doing nationally televising hospital wards.
Warriors had like a million prime time games this season and most of them were without Curry lol
Despite their record and not having Curry, they were actually competitive in most of those games and even won several of them
Anecdotally, I agree with this take, the game is relatively competitive up until about half way through the third and then we usually get roflstomped by our opponent
Given what we usually did in the 3rd quarter in our golden years, pretty sure the other teams are loving this.
I really need to see what the Warriors record this year would be if games ended at halftime. Cause I watch a lot of Warriors games just from being in the bay with family and friends that are fans and I feel like they were competitive in a crazy amount of games they ended up losing like you’re saying.
Oh how the turntables lol
Its our turn for someone to have a timeout and decide not to use it.
when’s the next double bang against us?
i feel like as an audience.. we’ve been too spoiled specifically for curry and bron
they’re fucking old LOL, idk if they are supposed to be expected to play this many games especially b2b
They were much better without Butler/Curry than I thought they would be.
And people (some very loud warriors fans) still think Kerr’s a bad coach
Yes but the world got see Malevy Leons.
Thats a real player on the warriors who gets minutes rn
And he actually started last game over a couple bums named S. Curry!
I get not playing Steph in both games of the back to back but it’s baffling they decided to rest him for the final home game against LeBron, instead of resting him tomorrow against the kings in Sacramento.
Give the people Steph vs Bron.
We are going to get Seth vs Bronny and like it.
We have Curry/James at home ass matchup
They want to give him 2 days between games rather than one. At this point they’re prioritizing his health over anything.
Especially because there’s a fairly decent chance this is the last game at Chase for the season. And the home fans have had one chance to see Steph in the last month and half basically
Well there is no other late game option tonight, everything else is either EST or CST.
But even if there were, Lakers Warriors would still likely outdraw whatever games were available. Networks aren’t trying to get the best games on tv, they’re trying to get the most viewers possible. And that’s usually fairly predictable before the season even starts.
I bet it could be done but the crew and broadcasters would probably have to cover games remotely instead of always being in the building, similar to what international broadcasts do. So there would be trade-offs.
why is he playing against the Kings instead of the Lakers?
Back to backs is the most brain dead thing the NBA continues to do. Just extend the season until the end of June. So many games ruined because players are taking games off because they don’t want them playing back to back games.
Or just cut preseason and start the season then
Horrible idea
Why
Preseason is a good way for players to work up to playing shape. Don’t get rid of it unless you want to see even more load management
Or if it screws the schedule too much (which it shouldn’t), just make all B2Bs home games only for both games. That should have minimal disruption to the season and schedule while still at least ensuring the players aren’t flying in the day of the game.
The NHL has back to backs too and I fucking hate their existence in both leagues.
back in college i made some money doing zero research but basically just betting against nhl teams that were on an away back to back and it was surprisingly successful lol. crazy that casuals can see how detrimental it is to the product but the leagues refuse to do anything about it.
Just cut the preseason down to a couple days where several teams come to a few host city’s and they can play multiple teams in one day. They don’t play starters full NBA games anyway.
end of june and start of october, that 4-5 weeks of extra cushion would solve so much of injury and managing problems
Damn that SUCKS for the fans that bought tickets expecting curry Luka reaves and bron.
Buying front of a back to back used to be safe, now it’s no back to backs at all if you’re within the last month of the season
It’s almost like… They should get rid of back to backs
They should just get rid of basketball
Shut up
Spending all that money to watch Podz and Ayton play 😭
Podz + Ayton –> Payton? Oh yeah, him too.
You’re better off buying tickets a few hours before tip-off. I’d rather pay more and be guaranteed to see the stars than save a few hundred, but end up watching Santa Cruz vs South Bay.
This sucks for the fans who were gon watch a national tv game too
I mean cmon the opportunity cost for people watching on TV is $0 lol
People fly in, book hotels, rent cars, etc to watch Curry vs LeBron type matchups. Imagine how many people got $300+ tickets for this game, for Christmas or a birthday
Ignoring the 4 people who were going to get prime for exactly one game smh
this is why i alwasy buy tickets early in the season. Got burned too many times if i get anything after Christmas
The games don’t matter for the warriors and it’s all about getting Steph up to speed for the play-in so he was gonna sit out one of these games. Super lame for them to choose this one instead of tomorrow’s game
The rule is supposed to be that he plays in the nationally televised game if they don’t want a fine but since Curry is just coming back from injury, it’s probably valid enough reason he sits the first game of a b2b for more recovery time.
Curry is also over 35 so I believe that rule doesn’t even apply to him.
I agree, but if there’s a game to throw its clippers. You want them to beat blazers in standings. Playin would be easier going blazers > loser sun/clips then clips blazers/suns
They don’t want to lose to the “tanking Kings”.
Warriors definitely getting fined here lmao
Steph is exempt from this rule cause of his age plus it being at home instead of on the road prob helps
And they listed him as questionable already. Not like he wasn’t on the injury report
Imagine being the Kings and the other team rests their stars against the crippled lakers because they think the Kings are a more guaranteed win on a back to back
Uh it would be the opposite, he’s playing vs kings since it’s a LESS guaranteed win
There’s arguments for either to be fair. Either you rest your stars against the harder team and take the L instead of a tossup, or you rest your stars against the easier team banking on winning anyway.
Yes but what the guy I replied to said did not make sense logically
how does that make sense? Even with Luka and Reaves out, the Lakers are a much better team than the Kings. Kings won 21 games this year.
Running from Bronny
From Ayton
You see it
the script writers are cooking buddy, conference finals LeBron vs Curry
Not conference, finals. Warriors vs Cavaliers next year.
No one got me like Silver got me
Idk, based on Draymond’s definition sounds like the warriors are tanking
Massive for the Lakers’ 3 seed chances
They don’t want the 3 seed.
The wolves will beat them and they know it - they have a better chance against Rockets in the first round.
They have no chance either way lol
Rockets have their flaws but they’re infinitely better than 41 year old and friends you don’t win 50 games in the West by being terrible
I hope the Lakers agree with you
long story short the 3 seed dream is over, good for the 4th seed chances though
Not really.
The Lakes have 50 wins and 3 games left. Denver has 52 wins and 2 games left. But LA has the tiebreaker, so they just need to equal Denver to pass them.
The Nuggets’ only two games left are against OKC and San Antonio. It’s possible neither plays their starters, but Wemby still needs to hit the 65 game threshold, so there’s a decent chance he does play, and San Antonio likely wants Denver on the other side of the bracket so they’ll likely try to win.
The other issue is that Denver may be more interested in 4-5 seed than 3. Minnesota is probably their toughest matchup in the 3-6 range. Plus you have an outside chance of facing LA in the 4⁄5 matchup if you lose.
I mean Denver is on a 10 game win streak and the Lakers are on a 3 game slide and missing both Luka and Reaves. I don’t know that the Lakers are actually capable of catching Denver even if they want to win and Denver wants to lose. Plus why the hell would Denver want to play you guys again?
The Nuggets only need to lose one game for the Lakers to catch them.
I mean this was their hardest game left and now Curry is out. If they win out, Denver just has to lose a game for LA to be 3rd.
OKC might sit everybody against them (lol) but they’re deep enough that it’ll be a game.
Then it’s the Spurs v Nuggets in the finale. Sure we probably sit Victor but we had a 20pt lead against Denver just a few weeks ago without Wemby. We aren’t a cakewalk regardless who’s out.
The Suns tomorrow on the back to back are clearly the hardest game left for the Lakers.
That’ll most likely decide the 3 seed with OKC resting everyone vs Nuggets.
They’re not going to win out. I’m pretty sure they can’t beat these warriors.
Doesn’t even matter anyways, with the injuries they have any hopes of a deep playoff run are gone.
we may never see lebron v curry again
Maybe they’ll do a 2010s NBA reunion tour.
Lol damn they dont care about the fans at all. Yeah have him play against the KINGS instead…WTF
Kinda of mess up he’s sitting out a home game, then again Sacramento also feels like a home game.
This tanking is getting out of hand, amirite?
They’ll be out on the golf course together in no time
It should be a rule that if you have to rest your star players on a back to back, it must be the non-nationally televised game.
Disney/NBC/Amazon are the ones that pay your salary, don’t spit in their face (and the fans as well).
They may head into that direction
This is why I support the 65 game rule
Damn it! Would much rather he sit out against the Kings.
Warriors still win
That’s right. We MIGHT win. Emphasis on might
When you realize that we may never see Steph v Bron matchup again…
Makes it more likely that the Nuggets/Spurs game on the last day of the season can actually matter
3 seed Lakers?
65 game limit working as intended! /s
Well the Lakers recently exploded as a team. Can’t even blame LeBron for this one.
I like how they clarified that Lebron won’t be playing in the Warriors vs Kings game
The league putting Lakers vs Warriors in prime time 4 games this season and neither feature LeBron vs Steph.
We need better flexing
just go full Pacers lineup until the end of regular season
Podz vs. Kennard just like the fans wanted.
Curry really hates the Houston Rockets. Sit out this game for the Lakers to have a better chance of winning, Lakers maintain seeding lead vs Rockets
Well this ceasefire is holding.
I wonder if these Lakers are capable of beating anyone at this point. I’ll be tuning in to find out.
Ticket price is still 140+ lol
He means this ‘Regular season’ right? Becuse they will fight it out in the playoffs
We’ve Steph v LeBron plenty of times. Steph v Daeqwon Plowden, on the other hand…
ducking Lebron i see
That’s okay cause they’ll be teammates next year for the 5th installment of The Expendables franchise.
RIGGED!!!
Man this is the 1 game I was looking forward to for the rest of this year
Shits wack, I wanted to see another classic Bron vs Steph battle tonight
Also Embiid OUT tonight in a must-win. The NBA is a great product!
Appendicitis is forgivable.
Bro’s appendix is about to burst. Completely different
My response is 32 minutes ago, Shams reported it 25 minutes ago. Lol. I get it
The NBA isn’t missing much.
Basketball sucks because it is all divas that dont want to play.
why dont rest him tomorrow? or even both games till play in
They probably just want to ramp him up on the easier remaining games.
