Draymond: “I love how Giannis treats the Milwaukee Bucks organization, he treats them like ‘screw y’all and I don’t care what y’all gotta say’, meanwhile they’ve given all his brothers an opportunity to play NBA basketball.”
Giannis’ brothers are really the make a wish kids of the NBA
As much crap as Bronny gets for being LeBron’s kid, I’d much rather have Bronny on a team than Giannis’ brothers
Bronny has outscored #1 pick Zaccharie Risacher over the last 4 games lol
Bronny with Risacher’s physical tools might be a top 50 player. He seems to have at least inherited Bron’s work ethic and professionalism.
He tries! He’s not at the level to play important NBA minutes but he’s certainly not the worst player on an average roster.
We will unfortunately fucking see in round 1 of the playoffs with Reaves and Luka “in a better place”
Yeah I’m not looking forward to a kid who has no place in the playoffs getting exposed in front of his dad.
So nice that his dad shows up to all his kid’s games, though! /s
Seems like he really could’ve benefited from a few years in D1 seeing a lot more minutes, but alas…
insane stray what the fuck
The Lakers fanbase, including myself, have been celebrating this fact for a week or so now, it’s pretty much all we have to celebrate about the team recently
I’ve seen enough, bench Bron and start Bronny.
The difference between an injured team and one playing pseudo-playoff games
Honestly all the talk about Bronny has covered for how ass Dalton Knecht has been
I get this about the younger two, but Thanasis was drafted before Giannis was ever good* in the league.
Edit - Giannis first year was 2014. Thanasis was drafted in the 2014 Draft the following off-season. I got it.
Thanasis was drafted after Giannis’s rookie year.
But Giannis was not a recognised talent good enough to get any nepo treatment yet. Thanasis got drafted off his athleticism and hustle, similar to how Giannis was drafted off his athleticism and length. Unfortunately some of the athleticism has been lost to injury.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo - NBADraft.net
Passing mention of Giannis having an ‘impressive’ rookie campaign on Thanasis’ draft profile
Thanasis was a borderline talent at one point. A legit prospect for sure. The others not at all.
Thanasis is a 6’7 athletic freak who (pre ACL) could jump out the gym and out hustle most NBA players.
He was 100% drafted on merit and got actual playoff possessions during the Bucks championship run. Usually defensively to try and get a stop at the end of a quarter.
He is still a nepo hire, but Keljin Blevins is a far worse case than Thanasis/Kostas/Bronny ever were. But no one cared
He’s also a prime hype man off the bench, like a broken down Udonis but about 100 times more intense.
Serious question. How does Kostas get on the mavs or lakers if he wasn’t also?
They thought Giannis would request a trade /s
Fair enough, I misread 2014 Draft and Giannis’ first year being in 2014.
No.
Thanasis was drafted in 2014 by your own Knicks.
Giannis was drafted in 2013
Giannis wasn’t nearly good enough to have nepotism pull at that point
There’s 4 antedelampaosjdjs? I thought the “3 brothers” included Giannis.
Thanasis - 33 years old
Giannis - 31 years old
Kostas - 28 years old
Alex - 24 years old (this is his first year in the league)
You’re thinking of three brothers because three of them won a ring. The youngest is much younger than them so he wasn’t in the league when they all got rings back to back years.
There’s actually another, Francis, the oldest
everybody forgets Francis Antetokounmpo since he got shipped off to Greek military school by his Nigerian parents, Hal and Lois Antetokounmpo
Life is unfair
holy shit this made me laugh, just rewatched MiTM this year
The new one looks like it might be solid
Giannis In The Middle
He’s now a cpa
Thanasis, Giannis, Alex and kostas I believe is the 4th?
Thanasis was drafted the year after giannis… lol
Yeah Bronny should have never got the opportunity he did but now that he got it you can’t deny he’s at least shown some potential
Brinny James was a second round development pick that didn’t get in the way.The bucks could have gotten players more productive that could help giannis on the court .
I mean Giannis’s brothers are like the 14th and 15th roster spot. How many NBA teams are playing guys 14 or 15 deep? You really think if the Bucks had a better 15th man they’d be doing better?
I’m not saying it’s a huge deal or would have gotten them an extra championship or something, but that 14th or 15th guy could have flown up the depth chart and actually turned the team around. There might be at least one player not on an nba team right now that’s starter level quality, and guys like Giannis’s brothers reduce the chance that he’s discovered.
You make a good point but banking on end of the bench guys making a big leap is such a crapshoot maybe not the worst decision to do it with dudes related to Giannis who took a giga leap himself his rookie year
Alex is a two way so he’s literally the 18th man
When the roster is never really healthy it matters .
The Warriors choosing GPII as their 15th man over Avery Bradley in 22 ended up being a really important move.
Got legitimate rotation minutes on a championship team, Bradley was completely washed on the other hand (even though commentators would glaze his defensive hustle, because they were stuck in 2015)
Ryan Rollins was basically at that position on the Warriors and Wizards (17th and 22nd in minutes respectively!).
Like the guy said he’s shown some development by now, but he wasn’t even worth a second round pick at the time he was drafted. One year of college where he averaged 4.8⁄2.1⁄2.8 on 36.6% shooting, plus he’s 6’2 and not some kind of crazy athlete
Peyton Watson averaged 3.3⁄2.9⁄0.8 when we drafted him. Bronny was absolutely worth a second round pick when the majority of those guys are G-league developmental players.
Watson is 6’8 with a 7’ wingspan and played as a guard in college, that’s not a great comparison at all lol
You would never draft a 6’2 prospect that’s an average athlete averaging those numbers on 36% shooting unless his name was Bronny James. Its a 2nd round pick so its not the end of the world but it definitely happened because of his name.
You absolutely would with a second rounder. High defensive floor and high iq are much harder to develop than shooting.
Does he actually have those or are we attributing that the latter to him because hes LeBrons kid?
He even had lottery pick upside before he had a fucking heart attack at practice his freshman year at USC. I feel like everyone forgets that this 21 year old is 3 years removed from a cardiac event that could’ve killed him.
He was never a lottery pick wtf are you talking about? And his heart issues didn’t effect his play at all he was just as bad before he had heart problems and was the same player after that’s such a lame excuse.
AJ Johnson went first round in the same draft after averaging 2.9⁄1.3⁄0.7 in Australia. Sometimes shit just happens. Bronny is definitely more athletic than him too
I mean the Lakers gave Bronny a fully guaranteed contract like immediately. That’s really rare. If his last name wasn’t James he’s getting a 2-way non guaranteed deal for sure
Thanasis isn’t actually that bad (played 44 minutes during the Bucks championship playoff run, some of it in non-garbage time) and Alex has played 4 games at the end of a lost season
Replacing Thanasty with Quincy Acy or Wayne Ellington would’ve added like 0.2 WAR at the expense of putting Giannis in a worse mood
He really hasn’t though. He’s as good as the g league gets but that’s about it.
Yep. Not a hater but he’s no better than G league
He avg 3 points a game can’t even dribble
I can definitely deny that he has shown potential
Bronny has been improving and genuinely showing that he can be a 10-15 man after lebron leaves. Bronny slander is still fine but he’s working his ass off
One of the brothers was a much much better prospect than Bronny, purely because of his athletic attributes.
LMAO what?? Thanasis is legit clearly better than Bronny
At high fives and handing out water, sure.
Bronny has proven he should be in the league, and he’ll have a decent stint even when LeFather retires
He’ll never be an All Star or even a starter, but he’ll be a potent bench option, which is more than I can say for Giannis’ brothers
I don’t get this shit. Thanasis literally got drafted before him.
Probably less do with drafting him and more to do with how long he has remained in the league. Other players of Thanasis’s caliber wouldn’t be in the NBA this long.
And what has he accomplished after that before being signed by the Bucks?
2 total games in the whole league, for six minutes.
He’d never been in the NBA again if the Bucks didn’t sign him when he was 27 years old with basically no NBA experience prior to that.
Man’s a nepo hire man, just embrace it.
Edit: I don’t even fault the Bucks for this by the way, small price to pay in the grand picture to keep Giannis happier, go for it.
He’s also the biggest crowd pleaser you could hope for in garbage time. He legit keeps people in the seats in the Fiserv when he checks in. Can guarantee you he sells more merch than any other 15th man in the league. I hope we keep Thanasty in the divorce.
Can guarantee you he sells more merch than any other 15th man in the league
From fans and people who think Giannis is 43, not 34
Giannis was drafted 2013, and thanasis was drafted 2014
Thanasis actually got drafted in 2014 by NYK but your point still stands that it was well before Giannis was “Giannis”
You have no clue what you’re talking about
You must have them confused with Bronny James. Thanasis actually got drafted through his own abilities
Bronnys not a make a wish kid, he’s a fucking prop in his dads story 😂😂
Draymond is either making the worst point you’ve heard or spot on.
No in-between.
Mr. Coinflip. Is he gonna get a masterfully clean defensive stop or commit an unnecessarily aggressive flagrant foul? Who’s to say?
The Dennis Rodman of our time
I don’t think Draymond is nearly as much of an alcoholic as Rodman is. Still dirty as shit though.
Draymond is also an active father
As long as Draymond isn’t discussing Draymond, I’m happpy to hear his takes
I’m sure he makes a lot of in-between points, those just don’t make the front page bc there’s nothing to react to
Exactly what I was gonna say.
Draymond isn’t even the worst person I’ve read about on this website in the last hour.
Waiting for Draymond to threaten annihilation of a whole franchise.
“If Adam silver does not give us a top pick in the next 48 hours, the Phoenix suns will be obliterated, never to rise again. Sad. Thank you for your attention to this podcast. STARTING PF/C DRAYMOND J GREEN.”
I read this in donald’s voice 😂😂
Me too lmao
It is all a cumulative effect, since reason much of the population gravitated towards electing the US president is because a growing societal obsession for certain personality types that have popped up across different fields and getting a large platform to rant out to a captive audience. Many who’ve made millions off of it with almost cult like followers, and knowing the triggers to cause emotions like rage for the views.
You don’t immediately jump straight to A unless there’s first cultural shifts harmlessly taking place first. It’s easy to dismiss because there are way worse, but it is interesting when you start to look at how did we get to this point?
Took the words right out of my mouth
A broken clock kicks you twice in the nuts every year
That doesn’t sound quite right but I’ll take your word on it.
*Greatest Person
Lol pfp and username checks out
r/nba has one of these with Draymond every other week
He makes great points in between being petty and delulu
Draymond gonna be loved once he’s just in the media and not playing anymore
I don’t know if I could ever love Draymond, but he’s doing a lot more than Kanye right now.
This is honestly what Draymond should call his podcast
The bucks should keep the brothers hostage when he gets traded
Send one to Canada, the other to Sacramento, and Giannis to Utah.
Leave us the fuck out of this
Kings getting into the giannis business as he ages out of dominance and rests more games than he plays makes way too much sense.
We will get him when he’s 38
Hell no bring you the fuck in it
What if you get Giannis?
What if Brie Larsen shows up at my door and proposes to me right now? It’s fun to pretend.
What if Brie Cheese show up at your door is and is like put me on a cracker, what then
Fuck yeah, spread it.
Every sarcastic comment of the posing a hypothetical of a beautiful female celebrity having a romantic/sexual encounter with a regular dude in order to illustrate how stupid/unrealistic some other hypothetical is archetype is always a guaranteed funny comment whenever i read one. It has never failed to elicit a laugh from me.
Ah yes black dress Brie Larsen
i didn’t know what this was about but now i’m glad i checked
Sure, if we’re engaging in baseless speculation to begin with, might as well imagine something fun.
How about Memphis? Everybody loves Memphis. Ask LeBron.
If they send him to Utah that’s almost a guaranteed championship. They’re deeper than the coaching shows. Feels like when I was watching Detroit a few seasons ago
Bro, UTA is 41 games back. You think they are just one piece away from a chip?
For that to happen they would have had to be deliberately losing all season; like, deliberately not playing their best players meaningful minutes and playing schemes designed not to win basketball games. There’s no way an organization would ever do something like that.
…right?
its called tanking and the Jazz invented it this year.
Are there many teams as good as The Jazz that resorted to tanking? I’m not poking at Utah for playing the long game, I’m genuinely curious if there is much historical precedent for teams that would be mid-seed playoff teams just saying, “fuck it” and tanking like this year’s Jazz. I get that their protected pick is on the line and that adds a wrinkle, but I think a tank might have been the best plan anyway.
There’s a certain honor in being a team like Miami that never tanks, but Miami also never gets better. I can see why teams might be willing to throw away a season (or two) to try to escape that elite mediocrity.
Are there many teams as good as The Jazz that resorted to tanking?
Not sure I don’t pay attention to teams that tank. Only watch the Jazz tank because they are my team and I don’t want to just not watch basketball.
If that protected pick wasn’t on the line we probably wouldn’t have tanked this season and we are way better than anyone probably realizes.
There’s a certain honor in being a team like Miami that never tanks
I’ve been a fan of the Jazz my entire life and this is the first time we’ve tanked so I think I’d qualify and I don’t feel any less honorable. It was smart to tank… why would anyone in the league want the pick to go to OKC besides OKC fans.
Had a streak of like 20 straight playoff appearances and other than the two finals losses against the bulls we’ve never really had a chance to win.
Darren Peterson or AJ Dybansta was promised to Utah 3000 years ago
Utah could be a legitimate option if they were willing to give up their first this year Milwaukee would likely be interested.
Like some sort of medieval ward? Thanasis, your name is Reek now.
I’m not a Draymond fan but he’s not wrong about Giannis here.
I could see players being more upset about the brother situation than we might realize. They know better than anyone how hard a roster spot is to get.
We just cut Tyler Smith after his rookie season despite him being drafted at ~pick 33 in 2025. Handing out roster spots to his brothers but cutting young players that have barely had a chance to play is a bad look.
We picked him up
Good, I was always high on him. That one stung.
Yea who wouldn’t its not like they earned it and any team he goes to probably will have to too lol
I’d mostly agree, especially for long term roster spots. however seeing some of the players the warriors have brought out the past few years does have me questioning sometimes how hard it is to get a roster spot…
It’s more like the Celtics/Heat have been developing the ends of their bench that turned into rotation players that let them stay competitive even after losing starters (Hauser, Queta, Schierman for the Celtics; Larsson, Jovic, Highsmith for the Heat).
Probably a big reason why Milwaukee hasn’t been able to stay competitive despite being a contender during the same time as the Celtics and the Heat.
who tf DOC gonna develop
Tbf, Doc wouldn’t be in Milwaukee if Giannis didn’t want his team to hire Adrian Griffin.
Austin?
Good point. Dudes that spent their entire life training and practicing and sacrificing and could be the difference between life changing opportunity and not ( tho opportunities outside nba exist but not fully compare). But as an organization you get Giannis and can you blame him for wanting to put his brothers on?
How about the lillard trade at his behest
Every once and a while he’ll have rational takes and actually say something that was worth contributing. If it’s anything related to him or his beefs tho good luck lol
What difference does your opinion make whether you’re a fan of Green or not? Serious question.
It shows where their bias may otherwise lie when it comes to anything coming out of his mouth. Liking someone can make people more inclined to agree with them and vice versa.
Well damn when you put it like that..😂
People give LeBron more flack for having his team draft his son with the 55th two-way pick but don’t give Giannis the same energy for making his team give TWO roster spots away to his terrible brothers. Imagine if Ja or Westbrook did this. Rings aside I honestly think this whole Giannis crash out is the worst actions we’ve seen from player regarding how they treat the team that drafted them. Who snitches to the NBA to investigate their own team?
and Alex makes Thanasty look like an all star
Giannis didn’t make a tweet saying his brothers were better than half the league. But I get where you’re coming from.
Lebron on March 7 in 2023
Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today. Shit lightweight hilarious
This seems to be the game.
Like I don’t know dude, Bronny was a good prospect and this was way before his cardiac arrest. Can you blame for this ?
Draymond has me supporting him I can’t believe it
It’s been a hell of a decade hasn’t it?
Draymond has his podcast clips reach front page relatively frequently, and the comments are always about how shockingly reasonable his takes are.
It’s because they don’t realize that every player likes him besides Rudy Gobert and the other big man. I forgot what his name is. They’ve all expressed willingness to go on his podcast, they do things like prank him for shows which they wouldn’t do if they didn’t like him. And for as dirty as you want to say he is, I guarantee you every player would say they want him on their team doing the same stuff. Minus the technicals
Even as a Warriors fan, I can’t stand his dirty, clumsy plays and screaming in the refs’ faces, but he usually speaks the truth and has good points.
I stopped listening to his podcast though, after the 250th time he said “the reality is”.
Ngl I agree lol he kinda saying fuck you to them
Kinda?
After they sold their souls to get him a ring but nothing they did since winning the chip has gone their way .
I think they sold their souls to get themselves a ring, but yeah, I agree with the general consensus in this thread.
And then fired bud and griffin and still have to pay them lol
Don’t miss the message because of the messenger, dray is right!
People talking about Bronny when Giannis got the whole family onto the nba insurance plan and Bronny is better than all of them 😭😭😭
Draymond burning GS’ chance to get Giannis to the ground.
Draymond is not staying if the warriors trade for giannis. Not because of draymond’s choice to be clear.
I can’t imagine he has any value to trade though and I doubt that the bucks would want him
That chance was already a pile of ashes. Might as well burn it more for fun
Draymond getting shipped to Milwaukee he’s doing organizational politics in advance
The difference is unlike Milwaukee, the. Warriors play their bench players.
Dray is just making sure he never takes the floor with Thanasis and Alex when the IR bug hits.
they only play their bench cause they got no one else
Draymond’s mad as hell he’s about to be a buck
If that were to happen, Draymond probably wouldn’t even suit up for us due to some “lingering injury” he “needs to address” - dude’s got a player option for 2026-2027 and unless his contract’s incentive-laden for games/minutes played, highly doubt he would ever see the floor before getting moved as an expiring to a contender
e: contract year typo mistake
I haven’t given up on Alex Antetokounmpo. He will be 6’11 one day 😭
damn. called out
I know Giannis reputation in the mud when everyone here is agreeing with Draymond
F*ck Kalshi and all prediction markets. Yall do remember Giannis announced his partnership with them right after it was announced he wasn’t being traded at the deadline. They tried all they could with Dame and then even paying Turner who hasn’t panned out. - - -
Giannis spent a long time there as the guy who didn’t want to push his way out and for him to do this at the end is a bit wild.
It also speaks to the organization for not communicating through confrontation well. Everyone here could have agreed to some sort of minimal play to end his tenure in Milwaukee. Someone should have been smart enough to say “let’s actually market his final games.” He wouldn’t have had to sit out the last two weeks, but also didn’t need to play 100% like they’re in a playoff race. He could have gotten some work in and also had an opportunity to get a proper send off from the fans. The team would have also benefited from having a few sell outs to end the poor season. - - - There is always an option to reduce risk. They didn’t have to make it 0. Because now at 0 there doing more damage to their franchise than they are going to get back for him in the trade.
Such a bad look for all involved.
Honestly when you’re forced accept Draymond made a good point it has more impact because no one wants to agree with him
Draymond is constantly making good points and is smart as hell. He just let’s his emotions get the better of him on the court. Seen so many clips of him saying based things or giving a well reasoned breakdown on a topic
Tbf he says some dumb shit off the court too, like with KAT last year I think
Right message!
Wrong messenger!
🤣
No correct messenger because he’s probably the only person not afraid to say it lol
Giannis gave them a ring dropping 50 in a closeout finals game he can do whatever the fuck he wants lmfao
Revenue Growth since Gianis became dominant… the contracts his brothers have are pennies compared to what he brought a previously dead franchise
2017–18 ~$179M Pre-contender
2018–19 ~$233M 60-win breakout
2019–20 ~$262M MVP Giannis era peak
2020–21 ~$258M Championship (COVID-impacted)
2021–22 ~$306M First full post-title year
2022–23 ~$326M Sustained contender
2023–24 ~$335M+ Continued growth
Yes but why is he being a 2 faced bitch? All he had to do is say he wanted to get traded and no one would have blamed him. Now he’s playing victim in a desperate attempt to keep the good guy mask on lmao
woooof, rather alarming that this is even a question, and the fact you have to scroll this far south to see it even pointed out is just disheartening
brought a dead in the water franchise a championship and put them in the lime light for a ~decade earning them 100s of millions in profit (as waberweeber pointed out below).
cant defend the way this played out for either side, and the bridge is clearly burned. time to send him to a new team
Damn Draymond really going after Giannis, but he’s not wrong…
Yeah. Giannis ain’t aging well ….all of this, add in the corrupt ass kalshi bullshit he just signed ….just gonna go down in history with grift and corruption , fuck it
Why do Giannis and his brothers not get 1% of the flak LeBron James and Bronny James get for nepotism?
Because people know Gianni’s as the foreign underdog who brought the bucks a title and they know LeBron as the spoiled flopper who made super teams.
Hard to argue with that statement.
Once Giannis announced he was joining the prediction bet market I lost all respect for him
Love it. Go Draymond!
“He’s so loyal.” “The city means so much to him.” “All 3 of his NBA G league brothers play here.” “He has an excuse for constantly failing in the playoffs as long as he’s here”. “He’s such a funny and humble guy, even though he’s been looking for a way out but keeps gaslighting our fans”.
Giannis is a Durant still in the closet.
No lies detected
Team treats players as employees and assets: “it’s a business players shouldn’t get too invested into the team”
Player treats team as employer: “manipulator, ungrateful, selfish”
Right?
I’m bugged out, guys like Giannis should ask for whatever the fuck they want, and GMs should either quiety manage that (literally their job), or trade the asset for max value (also their job)
The only person who will actually look bad when this is all over is the GM. Completely incompetent for not sending him off last year, let alone before acquiring Dame. Sold the firm for dirt and is now arguing with Giannis for stepping in it.
Also 12 fucking years of having the most physically dominant player since Shaq and the best acquisitions they did for Giannis were an old Jrue Holiday, Middleton who they trade for Kuzma and an injured Damian Lillard oh but the bucks who hadn’t done anything memorable since Kareem deserve unbinding respect and loyalty for signing hid brothers?? Like be fucking serious this organization is a joke
I think this is a terrible take.
I live in Milwaukee, and literally everything in the Deer District is due to Giannis–new arena, new luxury hotel, new restaurants and bars, and a new music venue. He has given this franchise and city everything and he’s been a good soldier. He’s embraced the community and the city loves him.
The breakup stinks but I think he’s genuinely torn. He wants out but he doesn’t want to be the bad guy. I just don’t see why that’s wrong. He’s 31. The franchise will not be ready to compete in the foreseeable future. It’s time for him to go somewhere and be competitive or chase another ring. He’s always been about winning.
I love the Bucks. I love Giannis. I’m ready for him to move and think he’s an athlete that’s in a tough spot and getting judged harshly.
If he was just honest about wanting out, it would be a lot more relatable I think.
Claiming so hard he has just signed whatever they told him to sign comes off as manipulative, as if he didn’t have huge control/input on all the major decisions.
people are just being dramatic… the guy gave a small franchise 10 years of drama free hard work, got a championship where he was absolutely dominant. Revenues and international fans grew like crazy. He is a HOF vet now, he can kinda demand whatever he wants. Real Bucks fans will be grateful to the only player since Kareem to bring the franchise a ring, who knows what decade they will get to see the next ring.
All this guy wants was to have his family paid off after the guy carried a franchise for a decade, and made them actual contenders and constant talking points for about 5 years….
DAMN. Facts
“I love how Giannis treats the Milwaukee Bucks org”
Meanwhile, punches his own coworker in the face.
Okay Draymond
Brother if I generate billions of dollars of revenue for your franchise you better fking sign my brothers the Milwaukee bucks ain’t do shit for him but pay the price if doing business with him
Nepotokounmpo brothers
I love that just at the end Draymond had to play victim. NBA players have to be the best in the world at acting like they are hard done by and the world is out to get them.
Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made a Great Point
lol he’s not coming to GS Draymond
It’s amazing to watch Giannis go from “getting a statue outside the arena” to “probably getting booed when he returns”
Draymond was acting the same way when he wanted a contract lol
He was asking for the Warriors to be investigated while having two roster spots wasted by his brothers?
Damn.
