A weird problem that I feel only exists in the NBA is that stars can control too much of the roster while also not being good at building rosters. Same thing happens with KD. They seem to overvalue other stars/scores while ignoring other things you need to win.

I think Giannis wants to win and be in Milwaukee but also wanted to try and shape the roster how he saw it while not actually being good at that part. Bucks obviously want to keep him happy and take his voice into account and slowly the roster gets worse over time now we are here.

Yeah. If this team doesn’t at least make the ECF, KAT will obviously be available, but it opens us up to trading OG/Mikal as well. We can put together a decent package if the Bucks want good NBA players back and not just picks/young guys who might one day hope to be as good as KAT or OG. There should be a reverse trade kicker, so if a player asks to be traded, they will receive 20% less salary to disincentivize then asking to be traded, and if they still did, it makes it easier to trade then with lower salary. They will be required to answered ‘No, I don’t want to be traded’ or ‘Yes, I want to be traded’ everytime a reporter asks them a question when there’s rumors, unless of course they ask privately. Details can be worked out but you get the idea 😝

I hear you, as well - but I’d argue a few things in return:

For starters, if this were a KAT for Giannis thing, I might feel different. But it can’t be ‘just’ that, you know?

And anyway, KAT is healthy. I don’t think his lower numbers are because he’s getting old or slowing down or something; I think its because Brown plays him at the elbow too much. He should be in the low post/ short corner or at the top of the key - that’s where KAT thrives - but for some reason we never just have him there this year. Oh and again, Giannis on the other hand has been injured ³⁄₄ post season now. Again, who knows what the future brings, but those numbers don’t bode well.

Also, I don’t think you can just swap KAT for Giannis, anyway, even if you could somehow swing that trade. Giannis is more of a 4 than KAT, and he’s not a shooter. He can’t play alongside Mitch or Hart; I don’t even know how we could find a Center to play next to him, honestly. And this is not even getting into who else we’d need to get rid of besides KAT; I’d assume at least OG or maybe Mikal if we’re lucky, probably someone like Diawara, too. Again with my thing about our depth.

Beyond that, Giannis needs the ball in his hands a lot, like Brunson. I feel like a team with him and Brunson would just be the two of them taking turns offensively. And even if the defense in return would be great, I think we’re best offensively when we’re looking for the best shot rather than looking for the best player.

Anyway. The truth is I don’t even want to think of it right now, and I don’t like this dropping right after we have a big win right before the playoffs. Just sucks all around!
