And the problem is that his athleticism has left him given all the injuries he has dealt with. He is also not like Rose or Westbrook who found it in them to be a role player and kinda found a 3P shot in the latter half of their careers.

Peak Ja’s ability to consistently touch the paint and playmake he was a positive player, he lead his team to 56 wins and 51 wins in back to back years, made an ALL-NBA 2nd team.

His lack of defense, shooting, size prevents him from being a ceiling raiser on a contending team, but I think a lot of the middle of the pack teams could still use the theoretical best version of him** (assuming he actually plays basketball games and returns to form, which is a big IF).

However, considering he’s contracted for \(40million/year through the 2027-2028 season, I don't think any of those middle of the pack teams would want to take a swing on him at that price. There's too much risk and not enough upside. Maybe in some weird world where his contract gets stretched or something and he can join a team on a MLE for a redemption arc, but trading for \)40mil/year morant idk

Its the new FA as most stars arent going to reach free agency anymore. Its gonna be mostly a trade league and roll players and others with less leverage will hit the FA market, which is still impactful but the league defining players are gonna be via draft and trade for the foreseeable future.

Its just tough to comprehend that a player that is 22yrs old has been in the league for 4 years. There are going to be lottery picks older than him. So you still have to look at him as a rookie and needs development, to get his true value. He’s the youngest player on the Bucks roster. They are so void of young talent it’s actually alarming.
