[Highlight] Jokic dances with Robert Williams and then makes the hook shot
Everyone moving back on defence before he even shot
that is hilarious to watch actually. even jokic almost immediately backpedals when he lands because he knows it’s going in. the only person who walks the other direction is Williams begrudgingly to get the ball and inbound. unreal
That’s crazy. 🤣
Lmaoo yo good catch
It’s almost like a. 2k animation everyone just knows Jokic is hitting that shot
that’s honestly some of the most disrespectful shit i’ve ever seen on a basketball court🤣🤣
They probably got cooked the same way in practice lol
They knew his sheer will would make that shit, otherwise they probably started running back since they knew he wasn’t going to pass. Which was what they drew up
Even the other team lol
Float like a butterfly. Stings like a truck
My dancing king
Young and sweet
Almost seven feet
Time Turner
Oh how I miss you time lord
He never played for the pistons
Robert Williams is looking down from heaven smiling at this comment
RIP Rob, gone but not forgotten
yeah I know, I just missed him on the Celtics lol
Well he’s still really good in portland, just always on a minute restrictions sadly
I hate guarding guys like this in pickup. I can’t imagine guarding a 6’11 unit 😂
4.3 seconds in the key.
3 second rule is more like a 5 second rule
Especially when the rule of cool is involved
Eh about 2.8 seconds in the paint
It was 3 lol. Count again
honestly the NBA needs to get rid of the 3 second rule. it’s total bullshit. at least it will give the defense SOME sort of advantage.
i really hope they get rid of that stupid rule
Of all the rules they need to get rid of, it is defensive three seconds. Let teams play zone again. The nba shooting will kill most zones but i want to see what coaches can come up with in the modern era.
If you’re not the same kind folks complaining about SGA fouling and traveling almost every offensive play you kind of sound like a shill.
I counted 5 seconds lol
The countdown starts when the player is fully in the paint. Thats why you see some defenders tap their foot out of the paint to avoid a defensive 3 second violation.
No it doesn’t that’s why players tap both feet out. Just one is enough
AD was a master of keeping the timing right. I used to watch that man tap dance on the weakside watching the ball handler
Just need one foot out and the other lifted. But this is a stupid argument as this is the NBA and they don’t call it unless it’s like 6 seconds and he was in the act of shooting by the time 3 seconds came up. You can look and the ref isn’t even counting
I’m no basketball expert, so I ask this out of genuine willingness to learn.
Is this a travel? He’s pivoting on his right foot, but pivots on his left as he takes the shot.
You’re allowed to pick up your pivot foot as long as you don’t put it down again, that’s how lay ups are allowed.
So not a travel.
Thanks!
You’re allowed to change your pivot foot as long as it doesn’t come back down. Also the NBA is loose with the travel call.
Also not an expert, but I think as long as he releases the shot before he sets his right foot down, then it’s not a travel.
No. He is pivoting on his left foot before the shot (the pivot foot is the stationary foot). When he takes his left pivot foot off the floor his right foot is on the ground. If he put his left foot down before he shot the ball it would be a travel. You can take your pivot foot off the ground as long as you don’t take an additional step
He is pivoting on his left foot before the shot (the pivot foot is the stationary foot).
Correct logic, but left/right flipped.
Jokic was pivoting with his right foot. Then he lifted his right/pivot, and shot the ball before the right/pivot foot touched the floor.
Not a travel but it was 3 seconds in the paint
They never call it. You could argue he’s in the motion of getting a shot off not just standing there or at least that should be the rule
For sure
switching from right to left is a step through which is completely fine, but he also drags his pivot which is technically a travel, it’s also easy to miss and hence rarely called
Everyone has already answered this explaining the current rule but I do believe that picking up your pivot foot used to be a travel. Some time in the last 5-10 years it changed.
Nope, always been legal, otherwise layups wouldn’t be allowed. There’s footage from the 90s where you see these moves all the time. Here’s a compilation.
well how would a jumpshot work? You have to either pick up your pivot off the ground or change the sentence to “pick up the pivot and place it back down again”
It’s not a travel… even for the NBA, it is very advanced footwork though, and an inexperienced referee might even get confused and call a travel, when it is not a travel… you should try looking on youtube for nba footwork compilations, generally and mix edits from players like Hakeem Olajuwon, Paul Pierce, Manu Ginobili, Kevin McHale and you will get a feel of what is legal and what is not
How is this by any means advanced footwork for the NBA lol. It’s literally the most fundamental footwork possible. It’s the exact same concept as a layup or a fadeaway. Hell, they were teaching this in the 50s.
well thanks Hubie Brown but not all of us were around in the fifties, OKAAY!
Technically it is a travel he slides his pivot but they never call that.
I mean, I know they don’t call it often, but 3 in the key?
I mean, I rewatched it and you’d have to be as strict as a HS ref to call that one. It was maybe 3.1 seconds. I feel like they only call it when it’s like 5 or 6 seconds and the move is stalled and awkward if at all.
I know that it’s the NBA’s official stance that an 8 second rule doesn’t happen until a full 9 seconds passes, so 8.9 seconds is legal. I wonder if it’s the same with the 3 second rule
Swish
The Dream Shake!
That was so beautiful
3 seconds?
[removed]
Its not a travel.
I mean technically he drags his pivot a little bit but every nba player does so it doesn’t really matter
Watch his pivot foot
Worse than Luka lmao you know Luka had more free throws than even SGA right?
“BuT LuKa’S aRe aLl eThICaL” right? lol just like how Lakers being near or at the top of free throws for 5 straight years is just because of how you guys play ball, right? XD
His touch is insane
sometimes you can just see flow state in action
the jokey dope
Easy three second violation
The ref at the baseline was just standing there not even doing his job 😂😂 Jokic was in the paint for 5 seconds
People getting downvoted here for knowing how to count
It’s the most graceful thing I’ve seen a man of that size do
not the sky hook…but how tf you guard that? no wonder defenders just foul him constantly and refs let it go. seriously think hed average 35/12/12 if all fouls were called on this man.
I miss when highlights like this were at the top of the sub instead of just statline summaries
Thats the last laugh right there
Did he switch pivots?
Was Beyonce watching
3 in the key no longer exist as a rule????
I literally counted and it was 5 seconds 😂😂 refs don’t call anything expect flops now
If you start from 0 (which is how counting works) he actually gets it off after about 3 seconds
Great moves but that was 3 seconds in the paint
They call that move the jelly roll
“I counted 4 seconds in the key” ☝️🤓
“So…Um..What are we?”- Robert
Do casual fans find this boring? Because I just came watching that
the Joki-doke is CRAZY🤣🤣
this mfer highlights gonna be replayed for the next 30 years fr
“WTF even is that?!” - Robert Williams probably
Joke has the greatest touch on post ups+ floaters of any player I’ve ever seen.
3 seconds lol
Stiff as f
Violation
Sombor Shake
Spins like a bayblade
Why when there is a clip of a step thru all the comments say travel, but not for this?
He traveled like a mfer.. plus the 3 second violation 😂
Refs must’ve been dazed from the spinning 😵💫
No travel there
Yes. There is. His pivot moves.. multiple times
This ref on the mic is so annoying. Is it just me or does he sound like he’s using some fake cartoon voice?
He speaks slowly and clearly, which as a new viewer I appreciate
The nuggs announcers remind me of the two old white guy muppets
I love them
Scott Hastings always reminds me of Sam the Snowman from the old Rankin Bass Rudolph special.
Travel!!
