[Highlight] CJ McCollum from mid-court to tie but he doesnt get the shot off on time!
Crazy the difference that 0.1 seconds makes
Brandon ingram’s felt it this season too
Literally a tenth of a second late. Insane
I was always taught a dribble or a pass will take one second. A shot is about 0.5 seconds. Glad to see that rule I learned back then still stands true lol
He took two dribbles to be fair
I think about that Embiid full court shot vs. the Celtics all the time
Now they are able to go frame by frame and determine if the shot would count or not haha
Back in the day like (20-80 years ago) they would’ve counted that shot good. There’s tons of legendary buzzer beaters through history that wouldn’t have counted if they were able to review them in HD
They waved it off at the buzzer prior to review. So back in the day, they would have gone with that call and not counted it either.
Any examples of buzzer beaters that were actually late? Sounds cool
I think there’s a Reggie miller one that was late but was counted
Broooo, that would have been one of the best buzzer beaters of all-time!!!
if you stop the video, using TV’s clock, the ball is out of his hands with 0.2 on the clock, so i guess the gameclock and tv one are off by that much.
Jennifer should be proud, this man tried.
Still by far my favorite tweet to ever emerge from NBA twitter
Ray Allen’s is goated
Driving around dallas though
I understood this reference
Tragic tbh. Sick heave
Highlight reel heave
tbh rule of cool they shouldve played five more min
I shat
My knees went weak and I almost threw up
The scream that I scrumpt
The yerr I yerrted
Mom’s spaghetti?
I was like. It’s ok it’s ok it’s just overtime. We didn’t fuck it up all the way. It’s ok its OK.
Smh
Edit:
Forgot a couple plays before when Hawks fouled anunoby they took 0.1 second off the clock on replay from 5.5 to 5.4
save that for the playoffs
I fell to my knees at Duane reade
come on rule of cool for once
Fuck that
I second this
I third this
Rule of cool until its your team going to ot
Idk i think hes got a point
and my axe
Maybe if betting wasn’t rampant
But it’s the Knicks so it’s ok
Like Aaron Gordon game 1 last year?
wasn’t a buzzer beater but sure
Dawg they didn’t even do that when the Miz did this shit for the celebrity All Star Game.
hence the for once
What a fucking shot
Amazing touch
I was getting quadruple OT flashbacks
Fr fr
Edit. Totally forgot a couple plays before when Hawks fouled anunoby they took 0.1 second off the clock on replay from 5.5 to 5.4
I said the same thing! Or Luka when he was on the mavs and they came back and won smh
CJ: which one?
The Melo and Paul Millsap duel went crazy
I got flashbacks to the fucking Pacers tying Game 1 last year 💀
CJ you ain’t tanking anymore buddy get that shot off
He’s trying, Jennifer
My most referenced nba meme/quote/thing ever
What is this from ?
A random woman named Jennifer on twitter said “Win a playoff game then talk” in response to a CJ tweet. Then CJ replied to her “I’m trying Jennifer.” It was just very funny at the time and still gets referenced
Oh lol thanks for the explanation. I’ve been seeing it referenced everywhere and wondered where it came from. He’s low key so funny.
This and “say less” are most iconic Trailblazers tweets
Someone name Jennifer on Twitter told CJ to win a playoff game and he replied “I’m trying Jennifer”
Sometimes I’m tempted to use it in completely non-NBA related circles and situations and realize I probably spend too much time here
Looked good when i paused it in real time with 0.1 seconds showing when ball is in the air but can’t see the red lights, only the scorebug timer
They showed a couple slomo angles on the broadcast, just barely on the tips of two of his fingers at 0.0
The behind angle he’s still touching at 0
By the very tips of his fingers too, literally as close as possible to being a shot without being one
Yeah this replay angle sucks. Maybe /u/mrbuckbuck uploads another angle and maybe NBC angle. Might be better.
The scorers table has a red light on it right in frame. This angle shows it perfectly if you know where to look.
Still a crappier version compared with the ny and atl feed. I was wondering how they called it so quick I thought the replay was going to take a couple minutes and then I saw the atl feed and you can tell in one re-watch.
Just count it, you cowards
Some games deserve OT
If the Knicks fall to 4th, this could be a first round matchup. East is very good 1-8 this year.
higher chance of hawks falling to 6 after that game tbh
Come on, just beat the Cavs twice and you’ll be good.
We really do have some of the best games ggs
Hawks preparing for their Indy run
You shut your wolf mouth
CAWW CAWWWWWWW
So much fun angering Knicks fans just by existing😂
I know nobody cares but KAT reached 8k career rebounds tonight!
You right
He knew. The look on his face. No argument.
Yeah, I mean why did he think he could get away with dribbling twice with only 1.2 seconds on the clock
dribbling twice is genuinely insane in that spot
The amount of nonsense shots the Hawks made tonight, them making a heave like that was downright expected.
Insane shooting from NAW tonight
I said to my boy they were gonna win on a hail Mary. Ooooh boy.
NAW been shooting like that in most games out of the last 20. Get used to it apparently.
Brunson defense wins us the game
just like we drew it up
Bro I was shocked
FUCKING HELL
Damn that tv clock was wrong when I was watching live looked like he got it off in time
TV clock had it about 6 inches to a foot out of his hand with .1 left, but the shot from behind had it at 0.0 and the red light on when the ball was legit on his fingertips. I rewound twice because I swore it was good, but the clocks weren’t synced up.
What a crazy ass game
Embiid ah shot
Almost gave the entirety of the NY fandom Tyrese Haliburton PTSD 😭
i almost passed out holy shit….what a game.
How the hell did the refs see that with a .1 second difference but can’t see an obvious fucking foul?
is the timer manually started when the player catches the ball? Or is there some automatic system?
Manual
Damn that’s brutal I wonder how accurate the timer starting was
Yeah it’s brutal. What’s crazy is a couple plays before when Hawks fouled anunoby they took 0.1 second off the clock on replay from 5.5 to 5.4. So who knows how much the score keeper has to do with it
This game and that fourth quarter was so peak. I kind of hope the Hawks fall to 6 so I can see this matchup in the first round.
i’m a knicks fan living in atlanta. i would lose my shit if i got to see the knicks live in the playoffs.
I genuinely don’t know how CJ planned to get two dribbles, a step-through and get a shot off in 1.2 seconds. Still he was 0.1 seconds too late. Nice try.
seriously TWO dribbles?? wtf was he thinking??
Whoever started that clock was not playing around.
Really wish the shot would’ve counted. It’s like the league picked this weekend to turn up the intensity on games.
CJ on his fuck Jennifer tour these last 5 seconds of regulation
Made me realize, the broadcast scoreboard timer isn’t actually accurate.
Bang ‼️
Almost
If the TV clock started on time, this wouldn’t have even been close.
CJ is a baller.
i have a freeze frame with the ball out at .2
This angle makes it look like it was in the air with 0.1 seconds. Need to see where the actual game clock was.
Will always have love for CJ, but I think his timing is still set to “purposefully delay the shot until time has expired to avoid hurting your shooting percentage” that was in place prior to the new rule attributing last second heaves to a team miss. 😂
It was a home game, if I was the Hawk’s clock guy, I’d delay when the clock starts on that play by half a sec.
damn so close lol
https://imgur.com/a/T3KKqMW
What?
The clock is incorrect that’s the issue. If you look at the light there it’s on when it’s still touching his fingers. Frame by frame I can find the timer at 0.3 and the ball not being in his hands but the light is on the official time was 0.0
I initially thought it was good, but this shows it still on his fingers at 0.0.
At this point the rule of cool should just apply and you let that shit count. Like if it’s a game winner, sure, you wanna give it more analysis. But if it’s a game tying basket, fuck it, you gotta let that shit count for the sake of entertainment.
No
Rule of Cool applies here
most interesting part would be the inevitable slow mo replay compared to the game clock
I wonder if this adds to the argument to missing the second ft when up 2 and very little time left.
If you go frame by frame the ball is out of his hands with 0.2s, so I guess the clock and the red light were out of sync which is tragic.
Rule of cool says it should count
How can you waive that off, boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo to cool booooooooooooooooo
Can we start getting 1 day bans for such useless highlights that are just karma rushes? They clearly would’ve shown replies of it so if it’s not included then get rid of it.
insane shot, but you have to know 1.2 seconds isn’t anywhere near enough time to catch, turn, take two dribbles, and heave a shot
edit: after slowing the replay down, it’s closer than it looked at first
how would you know that? when he’d have gotten the same sequence off in 1.3 seconds? people say anything man
It was quite near actually lol
not sure if there are other angles l/replays but you can pause with .2secs left and the ball is out of his hands. super close call
