[Highlight] A kid splashes a 3 from the NBA range during the halftime intermission - Warriors-Rockets.
Don’t worry, he’s only 10, this fuckery won’t go on much longer
Once you reach the double digits in this league your career is basically done
Give him a 10 day contract.
You see that Ben Simmons? Not so hard, is it?
You talkin about 3 point shooting or just actually playing
No doubt in my mind if this kid was defending the rim Ben Simmons would pass out of the shot
Poor Ben catching strays from a yout at a halftime scrimmage
Not like this guy is Uncle Ben, and even he caught strays. :p
“Who on the Hawks is scaring you?”
Ben’s first 3PM was on a corner 3. He wishes he had the range the kid did
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 bro
practice makes perfect…unless you practice with horrible form
You talking about fisherman Ben Simmons
This cannot be a good sign
The fact that kid on the other team took the inbound and dribbled into a 3pt attempt on the other end shows our future lol
My kid plays basketball in the bay area. This has been the case for a few years now. It’s not fun.
Bro pickup games for adults are all about clanking 3s these days.
I’m walking into the mid range these days. Pity i shoot like Dray
But u also defend like Dray right? Right?
Perimeter defense like Drummond. Rebounding like Trae. Willing passer and screener.
Shooting like Ben. Touch like Javale. Ball handling like Gobert. Willing ball hog
Prolly kicks like Dray
You think I’m athletic enough for that?
It’s worse for adults because they count 1’s and 2’s so it’s really a 4-pointer in NBA terms.
But if youre shooting 10% from 3 the value prop isnt really there lol
Doesn’t help that a lot of pickup games play 1s and 2s.
every once in a while, a friend brings his 8 and 11 year old and they sometimes fill in if we are short for 5v5, and i watch the 8 year old literally heave himself at the rim to shoot a 3.
And the crazy part, he can barely make a layup.
I watched a 13 year old with no fundamentals at the local gym. His dad is basically has some of the tightest (no flash just fundamental) handles, and an amazing shot with the most solid shooting base, and this kid is basically ignoring everything his dad is saying and doing james harden step back 3s. You could see the look of defeat in dad’s eyes, but to his credit, he still hyped him up while he was doing those.
At this points, neither of the kids did a 6-7 steps into a step back and i’m taking that as a win.
Steph really changed the game, lol. Always fun to handle as a youth coach.
Curry changed the game significantly
I noticed this also and now I’ve replayed it a few times and get more annoyed by this kid. look at how aggressively he runs in between two teammates for the inbound as well. Total one track mind that he was always going to Sprint down and chuck it up.
I kinda get it, they’re kids and everybody wants to be able to say they shot the ball in this game… But his teammate as he’s dribbling up to the left is calling for the ball and probably wants a touch as well.
Listen if you’re a Warriors fan and you get the opportunity to pull up from 3 on their court I think you kinda have to
I’ve been to a lot of NBA games and this isn’t remotely rare. They jack up 3s from NBA range all the time at these games.
I already cant watch the nba besides highlights since it’s all just 3pt chucking and foulbaiting. And likely rigged.
So you’re Adam Silver’s ideal audience?
Lakers need him asap
4th best player on the Lakers
It’s a sign that Curry’s influence has robbed an entire generation of the fundamentals.
Thank god for women’s basketball
But no can dunk.
When they say he changed the game that doesnt mean for the better lol.
Not that it’s on Steph, more so everyone else just completely getting the wrong message and thinking its a cheat code
Kid broke the paint, drew the defense and kicked out for an open 3. Seems like great process to me idk
Tough scene for that kid. Plays the laziest defense one can, gets splashed on. Immediate sprints to the baseline to demand the ball even though two of his teammates are standing there already, comes straight down the court and immediately bricks a contested 3. “I’ll show him” mentality.
Look I know they’re just kids, but the mentality is clear, and they are being coached poorly, and have tremendous me first attitudes.
Signed, an unc who has to deal with this at 24 hour fitness 3 nights a week
I analyzed this clip the same way. We should probably seek help if this is how we are spending our free time.
Haha I can’t help it bro. It’s a hoop highlight, and I love the game. The effect that travel ball has had on young US players and their development is kinda sad. That, and despite being a team game, most are clearly about themselves with main character syndrome. Lots of great hoopers who never make it anywhere because they want desperately to be the guy, instead of an integral part of a winning unit
Yeah I’m with ya, I coach this age of boys. There are plenty of those types to go around. Dribbling into double teams and forcing up shots
100%
mamba mentality goes both way
actually it’s even funnier cause the other kid calling for the ball on the inbound throws his hands up in protest after he didnt get it
he’s seen this story before, he knows he’s playing with a Cam Thomas wannabe
Yuup lol can’t help but notice
Bro theyre like 10
Great off ball movement to get open 😤😤
Nah they just don’t play defense in today’s game
!/s!<
How does the kid have the strength to do that. There are adults who can’t get the distance an NBA 3
if you watch the whole clip, it ends with a kid on the other team barely missing a 3 (hits the rim, bounces out).
So apparently these kids train a lot?
You don’t need as much power when you’re doing a chest shot.
Some of the WNBA players still use chest shots.
The reason why it’s extinct in the men’s game, is because NBA level defenders gonna block a shot that low.
My GOAT The Matrix
I could almost hit the rim from half court in elementary school. It’s all in the mechanics, transfer of motion some people don’t know how to shoot a basketball.
yeah it’s not that hard if you regularly play. the strength will also come from the legs
Yep. If you put too much power into your shot it’s easy to hit the back of the rim or the backboard, that’s why airballing is more common when you’re tired.
At first he looks like the biggest kid on the floor but then we see a smaller kid with the same range on the next possession
That’s what I’m having
He legit has very good form. Look at the angle of his feet, the sway, the release and his balance at the apex of his jump compared to the other kid who shoots later on in the clip.
People are talking like these two shots are the same, but the second kid is chucking it, while this is a legit jumper. They are not close. This kid has definitely been coached by someone who understands shooting mechanics well.
If you’re an adult and can’t hit rim from that distance 100% of the time you should find another sport lmfao
I can’t even hit it from high school distance lol.
That kid is a future Spur.
The shot did kinda remind me of Manu
rockets might need him
Sheer disrespect by the defender at such a tender age
Absolutely ripped that net
Clean asf
Shout out to number 1 for collapsing the defense a dishing out to the wide open man boy
Better BBIQ *than Podz
Honestly super impressive.
Maybe I just suck at basketball but for anyone who hasn’t tried, this is pretty hard and requires a good amount of strength. 😂
In the Lakers fan half-court shot contest, if they miss, they get a consolation shot at the arc to win a weekend at Morongo Casino or some shit
I’ve seen many adults miss those shots real bad. Almost as off and/or short as their half-court shot
What little man did was impressive
unfortunately you suck
Steve Kerr just wrote down the kid’s name for the 2040 draft
Three timelines.
Kerr can’t wait to not play him
Can he handle swing passes from KD and Thompson?
I can’t get my kid to take mid range shots. All he wants to do is go further and further. I hate teaching my kid sometimes. Fuck you Steph Curry.
Old heads will use this as proof that the leagues too easy to score in nowadays
why he lowk shooting that like cam payne 😭😭😭
Himothy Jr.
There used to be a ball boy like this at Cal basketball games, at intermissions he’d nail half-court shots. I always wondered if he ended up being a player.
The mens league I play at only uses the NCAA 3 pt line and even that shit feels seriously so far. It’s insane what a deep 3 in the NBA is like
are you playing in open courts? i noticed that the rim looks so much farther in open courts than in closed gyms
Sorry NBA GM’s, Brad Stevens has already signed him for the his next generation of 3pt launchers for the Celtics.
He LeBron, we’re good bro. You can go.
They do this all the time at these games. These kids are wild with the 3 pointers. Curry changed everything.
its always a lefty.
League is going to be testing him like Paul George on his day off.
BANG!!!
Man I got to play at half time once and wanted so bad to be the subject of smthg like this. Instead I smoked a layup and the girl I had a crush on was at the game 😭
Has that Cam Paine form
Bros got the Cameron Payne shooting form.
Ben Simmons just fell to his knees in the best shape of his life
Get this kid on the team with Lebron, IMMEDIATELY
Steph ruined the game
Splash son
Sign him immediately
Wow Steph curry does look short on tv
Defensive 3 seconds before the shot
#3 wanted that inbound lol
That’s impressive as fuck for a kid. Far shot.
They need to make a bigger court
Better form than many wnba players
