Alex Antetokounmpo is probably actually in the running for the worst/least qualified NBA player of all time
Alex Antetokounmpo played in garbage time for the Bucks today, actually scoring and dishing out an assist in the last two minutes to Thanasis.
But as great as Giannis’s career has been, with his 2 MVPs and championship run, him getting three brothers, and particularly Alex in the league might be his greatest accomplishment.
If that sounds like unnecessary slander, of course it is, but it’s also not an exaggeration.

This man is currently averaging 4.2 points on 34% shooting in 33 G League games this season. In almost 100 G league games for his career, his stats are basically the same https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/a/antetal01d.html.
In Europe as a developing young player, he shot 20% from the field https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/players/alex-antetokounmpo-1.html
There’s been a lot of examples of unqualified players, some egregious examples of nepotism (Keljin Blevins, Chris Smith).
But I think this is the first example, at least in recent memory, where a guy who was probably not good enough to be on a G League roster is now in the NBA.
