What a special season, not just earning the 1 seed, but holding it for the vast majority of the year. Even optimists weren’t cocky enough to predict that.

I feel awful that Jaden Ivey is having a mental break, but being able to swap him out for Huerter, while also getting a pick swap as well, that really could end up being the difference in the way the season ends.

There’s a Chianti fiasco inscribed with the prophetic “PISTONS 2028” that was raised to the top of the great hall of Loui’s Pizza in Hazel Park. We put it up in Summer 2024 so sadly it’s not there anymore (they only have so much space), but the spirit of the message lives on.

Question is, does it mean that the Pistons can’t win until 2028? I guess that’ll depend on what happens in the coming months. I’m ready to shamelessly change the story if they win this year.
