Ehhh. Even West MVPs had room for error while developing. Like Shai went from a smaller role on the Clippers to a tanking OKC. Wemby had no real pressure to win his first couple of seasons either. Jokic had a few seasons before anyone really even knew who he was, much less expected greatness from him. And the East has/had MVP contenders as well, they are just hurt or ruined by injuries. Giannis and Tatum are at that level, Embiid was before the most recent major injury.

It helps if you ski and/or hike. If you can do 4 miles at 10,000 feet then going back to down to 5280 is no problem. Or for instance the highest lift where I ski is 12,700 feet and I’ve had lunch there.

This era of the nba is probably has the least problematic stars of any era. Wemby, Jokic, Shai and Luka all seem like pretty competent people. You can already see that Wemby has forced Jokic to add/change some of what he does. He has a high arcing floater now (that just barely clears Wemby’s hand).

It also feels like he’s working on ways to create more space, which he has never had to do against a defender.
