As someone who has been a project manager for people who are “very clear about what they wanted”. I assume their team doctor was anything but clear, and they did exactly what they were told lol.

I had that happen once, apparently not all that uncommon. Apparently the imaging techs or whatever sometimes have problems discerning right from left.

Went in for knee pain for my left knee, they put me in the MRI and I don’t know anything so I just lay there waiting while the machine clicked/whirred and did it’s thing. A week later when the results came in they were like “Congrats, no damage to your right knee!” and I was like “ummm, great….what about the left knee I went in for?”, and after the Dr read and re-read (aloud to me) the part of the report that clearly kept repeating “RIGHT knee shows no signs of x,y,z…RIGHT knee appears blah blah blah, RIGHT knee…etc etc” the Dr tried to gaslight me and tell me even though they wrote “right” 3 or 4 times that they “must have meant” to write “left” lol.

Took another 2 years of arguing with insurance before they redid the MRI and surprise surprise: partially torn LCL that now had a bunch of scar tissue. Bright side is apparently it’s kinda/sorta healed enough to not need surgery, but it’ll never be 100% again. No more basketball for me….there goes my dreams of being the next Muggsy Bogues
