[Lowlight] Jasyon Tatum gives up on the WIDE OPEN 3, passes to Payton Pritchard who misses the buzzer-beater 3 to end the 3rd quarter.
Tatum was one assist shy of a striple double, and didn’t return for the 4th quarter to complete the T-D.
At first one might call this shameless, but a deep 3 at the buzzer by PP is a high percentage shot.
If you’re up enough to sit out the fourth quarter you deserve to stat pad a little
At first one might call this shameless, and they’d be right. But how many times does he get a chance at b2b triple doubles. Perfect time to be shameless up 30.
A few nights ago Stephon Castle was checked out midway through a 4th quarter blowout and presumably sitting out the rest of the game, but had 9 rebounds, 1 shy of a triple double.
While he was out the Spurs announcers called out to them (including Castle) and said, hey, you know he only needs one more rebound for a triple double? The team said yeah, we know, immediately checked him back in, and I think it was the next defensive play where the rebound went Castle’s way and the other four guys parted like the Red Sea. He was promptly checked out for Lindy Waters III.
Never wrong to be shameless about a triple double.
Got Westbrook an MVP
Just don’t be Andray Blatche about it and you’ll probably be fine lol
it was the high% play for sure
Did we watch the same video lol
Tatum absolutely should have taken that shot
A striple double on magic city night in atlanta
It would be a good name for a triple double where one of the double digit stat lines is steals.
Or say Bron’s about to complete his last assist to get a triple dub and just before he passes it he whips his hog out.
Fun fact: only 8 players in NBA history have ever recorded a triple double with steals as one of the double digit stats.
if my memory hasn’t failed me, Kendall Gill should be one of them…i remember he had this insane stretch on the Nets where he was just racking up tons of steals, including an 11 (IIRC) steal game and I think triple double along the way
To be fair Pritchard gets a buff on buzzer beaters.
It’s almost as if Tatum knew he needed 1 assist for a triple double.
And they say they don’t follow gambling lines or spreads. But they’ll follow stats a bit too closely lol
Players have always followed their own stats. It’s not a gambling thing, it’s an ego/legacy thing. You think they’d need some nefarious reason to want a triple double? They want a triple double because they want to be able to say they got a triple double.
These youngins don’t know about GOAT Ricky Davis missing a layup on purpose to get one more rebound.
I don’t think this is gambling related as much as it is career related.
The game is over so he might as well pad the triple double. He takes that shot in a tie game for sure.
Why does he know he’s closer to a triple double? Internal stat log? Coaches or fans telling him he’s close? Jumbotron shows it obviously. But there’s a point of forcing action.
Players look at the giant screen often. He 100% knows.
They also seem to k ow the point spread is 11.5 or over/under is 232 and they either push way above it, or hover there
Just utter coincidence I’m sure
Tatum would not have an assist over/under of 9.5 lol
He’s only had 5 triple doubles in his career and he was one assist away from getting back-to-back ones less than a year after tearing his Achilles, I think it’s fine that he was going for it
A triple double over or yes had a plus 3000 range for these types of players
He knew what he was doing
Guy who clearly eats, sleeps, and breathes basketball is concerned with a +3000 prop bet after signing the largest contract in NBA history and sitting out an entire year
Sure lol
Sorry he sold your money, time to start an OnlyFeet I guess
All triple Doubles other than maybe Jalen Johnson and joker are graded at extreme odds
Dudes gotta know this.
You’re an idiot if you think Tatum in this instance is trying to make a quick buck on his $400m of earnings instead of get the last assist knowing his teams about to sit him.
Mazzulla told him he’d bring him back in to get the last assist if he could recite the entire script to The Town.
PP at the buzzer might be better look than a wide open JT
Who cares
Everybody cares about stat padding until it’s their guy.
he sat the entire fourth lol i don’t think he was too concerned
Uhh yeah, I don’t think he cared at all. That doesn’t change the fact that people hate stat padding until their guy does it. What was it, a week or two ago when people were complaining about SGA playing in the 3rd quarter when they were up 40?
i don’t like your attitude buddy
People who aren’t homers I guess
Damn. This is going to hurt his MVP chances.
what does it do for his striple double chances?
Based off the title, I thought this was a case of TD hunting during a close game, and then I looked at the score. All the freedom to him for trying tbh
Yeah i was watching this game it was a funny moment in a blowout. They also sat the 4th after so cant even say stat padding that much
Well it is TD hunting, but I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with it, when he didn’t even return for the 4th
they blew the bucks out by 30 you fucking weirdo
ngl the pass was kinda tuff
Loving this is guy is so back that hate has returned.
failed stat pad💔💔
Luka season over. Celtics lowlights my new best friend
You and everyone else on this sub
Jasyon Tatum with the near striple double
Sombor Double :(
Striple double is crazy.
How does one get a striple double?
Current stat padding era
It’s unlikely they’d give up that lead but it could happen. Not a fan of that.
And that’s why we only won by 32.
Top 5 worst pass ups I’ve seen brother was wide with no close out at all lol damn I wish he got that assist
Good bench call. Teaches him to not do that again and not jeopardize his health going into playoffs
Most egregious statpad since Mitchell passing out of a wideopen layup mid air
