The competition is also “markedly better” this season, he isn’t going against last-season-SGA. Jokic is having a better season than his last MVP and leading the league in AST & REB, Wemby burst onto the scene with one of the best two-way seasons & impact ever, and Luka had the best season of his career (although his case is admittedly over by now).

Last season, the Thunder were gaping the field by 16 wins, now they’re just two ahead of the Spurs. It’s a completely different race
