The Wizards weren’t the only NBA entity that missed the mark on April Fools day. Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid claimed he was playing in Tuesday’s game despite being listed out on the team’s injury report due to illness.

Embiid sent out multiple tweets at odds with the team’s injury report, though ultimately did not play in the win. It’s still unclear whether Embiid was joking.

It was pretty obvious in the video it was all fake. Guy purposely overshot the hoop by a mile and was clearly acting after. A normal fan who believed they just won 10k would have been much more excited and then much more upset after.

I could tell by the first 2 minutes of watching it was a skit.

It’s just bad optics. Now regular fans will wonder if they’d be conned or played with for real from here on it. 

The perception of being being deceived goes beyond it being a prank

And they didn’t reveal the winning or losing fan was in on it until later on
