Its really weird that Kawhi’s no show contract, which Pablo had months ago, is being spun as just a normal contract. The careful language about parts of the contract being normal while minimizing the abnormal “beliefs clause” at the center of the problem is horrible journalism by Baxter Holmes.
Multiple quotes saying other parts of the contract are normal are completely irrelevent. The only part that matters is the beliefs clause. It negates the “normal parts.” Any half intelligent journalist should be able to figure that out. And any half intelligent human should be able to figure that out if they were paying attention to the story. Why Baxter Holmes didn’t is pretty obvious. He’s running propaganda for either the NBA or the Clippers.
“The only thing that stands out is that language that says ‘consistent with his beliefs, which is too broad and too vague.”
The mention of the beliefs clause which negates the rest of the contract. Blatant minimization.
