[Highlight] NAW, the MIP frontrunner, with moves on Banchero on his way to another efficient 30 pt game
i have always liked his game since he was summer league MVP or whatever. they did a great job with him in minnesota and he is really making the most of the opportunity he is getting in atlanta.
I remember watching NAW on the Pelicans and Jazz and thinking he looked completely lost out there, couldn’t shoot, attack or defend all that well. Looked like Dennis Smith Jr, good enough to stay in the league but just barely despite being in good situations and flashes of talent. Super cool to watch him slowly get here, just season after season of consistent “oh damn he’s gotten a little better”, great journey.
The leap this year has been incredible. Got tired of the family bbq talk all being about his cousin I guess.
There’s something in the water over there.
Edit. By there, I meant Ontario, but now that I think about it, there’s probably something in the Georgia water, I just don’t know what it is.
He’s probably feeding off the souls from the bottom of Lake Lanier
One players i have not seen a game of but want to. He is always putting this crazy stats.
Why did Minnesota not keep him? He might genuinely be better than Julius Randle lol
We are already pretty strapped for $$ plus we knew NAW would be commanding a lot more than what we could give. Priority was to get Naz under contract. I truly don’t think many people expected this much of a leap, but it’s great to see!
Randle is who he is at this point, but he had a pretty good playoffs last year before hitting a wall against OKC and actually was very efficient early part of the year.
Because we already had several wings in front of him (Ant, Jaden, DDV)
He wouldn’t have been able to unlock these scoring abilities we have seen from him this season because there wouldn’t have been enough minutes or volume for him
He has also struggled the last two seasons in the playoffs and shot very poorly
Oh hell NAW
Bro how tf did hawks get him for the MLE. I would trade all the hawks picks back and more for NAW on my team
Duren is the front runner for MIP in my opinion.
